Hello all!!

Does anyone know the proposed match date for the above match?? Its usually around August time at the Parkhead pub, Ecclesall Road.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Letters have been sent by Parkhead C.C. to Matthew Hoggard (whose Benefit Year 2008 is) but, so far, we have not had the courtesy of an acknowlegment or a reply. If a game took place it would have to fit in with Yorkshire's fixtures, so could be anytime from July to September but also it would only take place if Matthew didn't ask for too much money to bring a team down to Sheffield to play the fixture. Parkhead, like most amateur sports clubs, only survive financially by the "skin of their teeth" and lots of hard work by the club to raise money wherever possible.

The Yorkshire fixture never makes any money for the club (because of the money demanded by the beneficiary) but there is a limit as to how much we can afford to lose, balanced against the good public relations excercise that such a fixture berings to Parkhead and the city of Sheffield.

I think that Anthony McGrath is still running scared from me, having taken his wicket last time he popped down to Parkhead...!! (Granted, he had dispatched me into the pub car park the previous two balls...)
