View Full Version : If you won 10 million on the lottery...
kirstyhobson 17-09-2003, 12:08 for 99% of us we will never see let alone touch 10 million but we can always dream.i bet everone who buys a lottery ticket thinks about what thay would spend it on, fast cars, houses, holidays. how would you spend 10 million?
Agent Orange 17-09-2003, 12:31 I'd buy 10 million pound coins and fill a redundant swimming pool and happily swim away in them  Seriously, I'd ensure myself and family were taken care of before donating a large proportion to charity and that's a bout it. Not a very rock n roll lifestyle I know!!! :o
A packet of cigarettes to get over the shock and calm down!
Then probably some champagne to get over the shock and have a toast while I think about when I'm going to throw a massive party for friends and family and at what venue I would like to hold it!
The house, car, holiday would come later! Whats the rush.
First thing I'd buy would be Financial Advice!

DaBouncer 17-09-2003, 13:12 I'd book an armoured car to take me to camelot to claim the £££!
Then I'd buy a new house!
Lindseyw 17-09-2003, 13:41 I've always said I would claim the money and leg it to a faraway shore.... skeggy or somewhere like that, just to get myself together and think about what happened.
Then I would go to Toys R Us and get them to let me take all the kids I know and all those poor little mites who live in care in and around sheffield and give them all a trolley and tell em to go shop !!
Then write out 2 (big)cheques - one for Childrens Hospital & one for Weston Park.
Then I would sort out family and friends and then I would SHOP SHOP SHOP !!!!!!
1Man&hisBMW 17-09-2003, 13:47 £10m - fair chunk of HM's finest!
Anyway, I reckon I would give away around 40% of it, spend about £2m on home purchase (probably relocate to a nice patch in Wales)/prestige car collection/holidays leaving me with £4m in the bank to invest.
Don't think I would get though £4m in my lifetime anyway, let alone £10m!

upholder 17-09-2003, 14:06 New house, car, etc share some with the family pack work in and slowly drink myself to death :D
mr craig 17-09-2003, 16:27 I'd be on the first plane out of here and then watch president Blair destroy this once great country from afar, then i think i'd try to see just how hard it is to blow 10 million, and probably die trying!!!
You wouldn't see me for the sparks flying off the back of my shoes!!
If i won 10 million on the lottery...I would die of shock:P

I wonder how many people would forget their friends or the people who have helped them in life?

I would buy a big house in Fulwood, a few flash sports cars (Porsche 911, Audi TT, and a BMW Z3 as a runaround). I would buy the most powerful computer around, along with the fastest internet connection. I would then live off the interest and spend my time living the dream - not working. I would swim in my pool, play tennis on my courts, chill on my computer, drive in my cars, and be very, very happy.
kittykat 17-09-2003, 22:29 same as above but no computer just loads of clothes and id have them made to my own design- plush pink fur trimmed clothing with diamonds.
I would pay off the mortgage on our house so that Dad could retire early. I'd also install a swimming pool in the back garden and hire Dee out of Neighbours as my personal fitness trainer (sad to hear they're killing her off next week :().
Using some of the money, I'd open a state of the art respite and support centre for autistic and asperger's syndrome suffering young adults, with TRAINED people who know what they're on about working for ways of getting these kind of people into proper employment beyond charity shops and other voluntary work schemes (see my thread in sheffield general chat).
id live off the interest for a start off.
id buy a house in cornwall and florida and spend my remaining days flitting between the two.
Carlwarker 20-09-2003, 15:02 Besides helping some other people that come to mind, I would try to get one of the apartments on the Longshaw Estate, Foxhouse, so that I could wake-up every day to that magnificent and spiritual view of Carl Wark and Higger Tor, plus, for trips, buy an A-Frame cabin overlooking the Pacific on the West Coast, Vancover Island which was my home for many years.
I'd invest in several properties, start a business and help out all the people whom are important to me.

On second thoughts, I'd probably buy a house on a council estate such as the Manor, as these are OBVIOUSLY nicer places than those crime ridden Sheffield Hallam areas of the south-west.
(*sarcasm*)
