View Full Version : Serious Epidemic in Sheffield!!!
chalicefc3 17-09-2003, 05:34 I dont wish to harp on about this, well actually i do cos its really starting to **** me and others off!!
Remember this summer, there was a mad spell where everyone had to wear an item of Burberry around town (maybe not the Wednesday boys though). It was crazy and in a 10 minute period i have spotted 19 different burberry items on one day. Well its got worse
Now the trend is the 'squiggle' brand - the one where it looks like someone has taken a pefectly good t'shirt and written some incomprehensible writing all over it. Why? Its not really a fashion, surely.....
Then you have the 'Millseys'.. These are ppl that have long spikey hair, usually with bleached blonde highlights, brushed to the side. Sometimes they have a mullet down the back. They are easy to spot as they also wear a blazer on top of a white t-shirt, deliberately ripped jeans and a pair of shoes that dont seem to have any soles to them.
Finally - i understand that it can sometimes get foggy around sheffield, especially around Dore and Ecclesall. But there has been an increased trend in ppl that drive around with their fog lights on, in a poor attempt to look clever - usually down eccy rd.
If you can justify these trends, i would like to hear from you.
PaulTansley 17-09-2003, 08:45 Carefull, you may upset one of our users making accusations of car drivers using fog lights when not needed through Ecclesall, its a crime after all and crime should never happen there.
Ecclesall road well thats another matter, its full of illegal car drivers and murderers.
Lindseyw 17-09-2003, 09:00 Now .......... there are 2 things you need to be aware of when making these sort of posts.
Ecclesall & Ecclesall Road are not the same........apparently anyway.
We have people on theses boards that will indeed create HOLY HELL when reading that post.
The 'E' word is Taboo on here ........ unless of course we are conversing about the Classic Rock bar.... which of course IS allowed and most acceptable.
hehehehe..... the Devil Made me do it !!!
Classic Rock 17-09-2003, 11:00 I've been told on that post that I'm not in Ecclesall and in Broomhill. News to me. Wonder if the post office know.....

Sorry cr if it's a spelling mistake but that should read Broomhall.
ClassicRock, if you're confused, you could always pull out your A-Z and look at your location, and then look at where the writing 'Ecclesall' is written. I think you'll agree theres a vast space in between. To me, the nearest place name to describe your location is 'Broomfield'. There are several places nearer to your bar than Ecclesall. Brincliffe, Greystones, Endcliffe, Ranmoor, etc are all closer to your bar, yet I don't see you saying you're located in any of those areas. The simple fact is, the name of the road CONFUSES you, leading you to the wrong assumption that Ecclesall Road = Ecclesall, when infact Ecclesall isn't located until Ecclesall Road ENDS and becomes Ecclesall Road South, which I'd say was a good 2 miles from you, and with many other places nearer to you along the way. So why not just stop hinting that I'm pedantic and look at the map and accept the fact that you're blatently wrong.
I am going to add some fuel to this fire!!
I agree with t020, Eccelsall starts at at Banner Cross. The Classic Rock bar is on Eccy Rd but is at Broomhall or Broomfield.
Same applie with Abbeydale Rd - it starts at Highfields, but its not Abbeydale
Who knows maybe t020 lives at Greystones, Parkhead, Banner Cross, Ringinglow, Endcliffe, Bents Green, Whirlow or in any other area that could be confused with Ecclesall.
:D

Or Ecclesall even? Anyway, at last someone understands what I mean, thanks mikey.
Are we still on about Ecclesall (Road)! Let it go!
Anyway back to the topic in hand, be thankful you don't live on the Isle of Sheepy (http://www.sheppeyscum.com/) and have to suffer Chavs (http://www.sheppeyscum.com/chavwatch1.htm).
I once stayed on the Isle of Sheppey, I was working down sarf and needed somewhere to stay, Put it this way I wont be going back, I'd rather go to Cleethorpes!!!

I don't believe I have had the pleasure of the Isle of Sheppey, so Cleethorpes remains my last resort.
