Walk out of Luton arrivals and ask every NationalExpress driver you see if they are going through Nottingham or Mansfield. At this time of year there are always spare seats. Then taxi from Notts or Mansfield to Sheffield. I live for three months in Greece then three months back home in Sheffield; Having made the journey over fourteen times now (mid February next) I have found this way to have the best cost/convenience offset.

Train from Luton Airport Parkway to Sheffield could be as little as seven pounds each, if you book far enough in advance. It could be close to £100 if you're making the journey later today (my sister lives in Luton and I book that trip regularly).

My plane arrives at 22:45, so there is no train at this time.

You might get one directly to Sheffield, or failing that you will at least be able to get to Nottingham or Mansfield. Then taxi. Total trip will cost about £40.

there is a national express coach at 1.50 BUT it takes 6hours 55 mins what a counrtry we live in when it takes 6 hours 55 mins to travel approx 130 miles
