No, beans has already got one

I bought a Bond Elite on ebay a couple of years ago. It is used, but not by me :hihi: I have never got around to making anything with it, and fed up of seeing it lying around. Would like to swap for sock yarn if anyone is interested. :)

How much sock yarn?

I think I paid about £20 for it, so between £15-£20 worth of sock yarn

Go on Littleblue, then you can run me up some sock blanks for dyeing and I'll pay you in sock yarn....

When I got it, I did a square  That is all I know. Don't ask me any more, because I know nothing  I bought it from a lady whose MIL it had belonged to. It comes with a box. :D

If it's the same Bond one I had a while ago, they are really easy to use, look a bit basic but you can actually do alot on them.

I've got some links just for the Bond:

http://www.stephthornton.co.uk/knitting/bond/list/listhint.htm

http://www.knittingtoday.com/BondClub/index.html

Some good patterns etc on there.

I had a bond many years ago and you will need to check you can do 4 ply on it. I thought the bonds were for chunkier yarns like aran and dk. Mind you, we are talking something like 1980 so they have probably come on a lot since I had mine. Mine didnt even do ribs.

Here is the box in which the Bond machine comes in. Please note, it says with video, but the lady there is lying.

Here is the Bond inside the box.

Here are the bits and pieces that come with the machine. I am not thinking there is a ribber here? Who knows??

Here are a couple of pattern books and an instruction manual. The instruction manual has a stain on the front. I didn't do that. Sorry, looks like coffee or summat.

Wow the Bond Elite - mine was only the Bond Classic :(

There are also some videos on Youtube that are for the same machine (I think) but they've rebadged it:

If you need any tuition with your new Bond Elite littleblue then feel free to PM me for advice- I used to work for Bond promoting their machines and teaching how to use them in classes. It was one of my part time jobs for a few days a week whilst at Uni. Many moons ago, but I reckon I could still do lace, intarsia, cables and the rest on the machine.

:o

WOW! Thanks :D

I think you might regret this, you'll never get rid of me ;). I've always wanted one of these, and a lady at a knitting club I frequent has one and let me have a play. I've been dreaming about it since....

Someone else has offered me another one with some kind of case, so between the two I should be up up and away :D

Can you knit socks on them?

Hmmm I think I have one of those knitting machine thingies somewhere...I bought it off eBay and when I got it took one look at it and decided it was far too scary. Mine came with some free yarn aswell though...hmm...wonder where it is...

Its amazing :D

I've just got it working (sort of, we're still not the best of friends yet...) and am smitten.

Gempud - if oyu want to get rid of yours, I might be persuaded to have that one too :p
