Blockbuster are running a comercial at the moment where they claim you can take all your old tapes/DVD's and swap them for new ones.

One careful owner since new- my knowledge.
Low mileage and full service history - I keep a diary to remind me how long it has been since we did it.
In good condition for age - well what do you expect.
Reliable - I know exactly what I will be doing for the next 30 years.

Oh! all the DVDs and tapes are originals, not copies.

Swapping them isn't going to make you have any less though is it? :suspect:

I use Internet DVD rentals - it's great for £15 you can have 3 at a time, keep them as long as you want or better still, send them straight back as soon as you've watched them and get another 3! It's free 1st class postage both ways too so you're not waiting around for postage.

There's still a risk factor though, what if your DVD goes "walkies" in the post? You'd be liable for any costs of replacing any discs that get lost.

This is one of the few things putting me off signing up for online DVD rental, I don't trust Royal Mail to not screw up as I've had important stuff go "walkies" too many times in the past.

as far as I'm aware the rental company is liable for the costs so you wouldn't be charged (I suspect they'd just claim off of Royal Mail)

We had absolutely LOADS of DVDs from play.com go missing in the post. We switched to choiceserental, which is now part of lovefilm.com and haven't had any problems in the year we've been renting online.

That's odd, 'cos I've ordered LOADS of stuff from Play.com, and nothing has ever gone missing. I Love that site
