hi all,

I have just started selling as new boxed BT phones on Ebay, and i want to start selling them from a carboot, can anyone tell me which carboot i could sell the phones from, as some would class me as a trader.

I think the one behind the bristol hotel check your stock when you go in.

I would only be selling as new, boxed phones, no other household items. I have tried to find out how i can get a stall at Thorsby market but i have had no luck, or can anyone tell me how i go about getting a market stall in sheffield, rotherham, barnsley or chesterfield. I am looking for a couple of days a week, maybe 3 as i have a small child.

thanks
Kirsty

Have you tried Crystal Peaks? Their market is being expanded at the moment

Doncaster car boot allows market traders, and I can't recall seeing another stall selling BT telephones

You could give the one out near Gainsborough as well, thats huge :)

Marsh Lane has traders, they just have to pay a higher pitch fee. They seem to do quite well but you'll have to suck it and see.

Marsh Lane is one option but I would recomend Oldcoats, its about 21miles from sheffield centre(Along A57 towards Worksop, turn left at The Red lion pub traffic light junction at Todwick, then just keep going across a cross roads junction at Dinnington for about 7miles till you get to Oldcoats, then just follow the traffic to car boot sale.) Its absolutely massive, only rivalled by Doncaster, but not quite. Its in the middle of nowhere with huge fielld for car parking and another couple of wide fields for the sellers, mixed traders and one off sunday morning business men.

They generally tend to wait till the weather gets a bit better. I have known them to advertise openning and due to rain the previous night abandon their program. I would expect sometime late march maybe??????? Sorry don't know any dates arranged though.

Read this!! http://www.nmtf.co.uk/

This is the link to the National Market Traders Federation web-site. Read it through - it provides telephone numbers etc. to just about every market in the country and good advice on how to set up as a market trader. Don't forget you'll need Public Liabilities insurance - most markets won't let you trade without it although Sheffield markets used to let you use theirs for a nominal fee. Market trading is the hardest game in the world - so you need to visit those you think you may trade at to see if anyone else is selling the same stuff. Do the research thoroughly - trust me it'll pay off in the long run.

Good luck!!
