View Full Version : Lets have a heated debate cressida 25-01-2008, 20:03 I am just going to start a wind-up question - Why do some men see women as sexual objects haddockman 25-01-2008, 20:09 I'm glad you had the word 'some' in there! Certainly can't argue with you there though!! cressida 25-01-2008, 20:13 yes but since time began it was always the women who were perceived that way IMHO, I never have perceived men that way, perhaps because their 'assets' are more concealed, yet if they weren't it would be off-putting anyway - to me I am sure some men and women would find the 'in the face sexual appearance' attractive , if so come on and say why Tarquin 25-01-2008, 20:16 I have never seen my wife as a sex object;she never objects cressida 25-01-2008, 20:18 I have never seen my wife as a sex object;she never objects hmmm does she see you as a sexual object?:P Ginner 25-01-2008, 20:19 No idea. I find they have much more practical uses than just sex. Tarquin 25-01-2008, 20:20 hmmm does she see you as a sexual object?:P Nah,I dont object either ;):P:D Tarquin 25-01-2008, 20:21 [QUOTE=Ginner;3067913]No idea. I find they have much more practical uses than just sex. Like cooking & cleaning ? Ghozer 25-01-2008, 20:22 I am just going to start a wind-up question - Why do some men see women as sexual objects Why do some women see men as sexual objects?? cressida 25-01-2008, 20:22 Nah,I dont object either ;):P:D no I wouldn't thinkyou would somehow:cool: Tarquin 25-01-2008, 20:23 no I wouldn't thinkyou would somehow:cool: Very observant;):hihi: cressida 25-01-2008, 20:24 Why do some women see men as sexual objects?? I'm hoping there will be some women who are brave enough to say 'yes I can't help it that if I see a fanciable guy - sex does enter my head' Ghozer 25-01-2008, 20:31 any ways, your original question.. "Why do some men see women as sexual objects" Should read... "Why do some men see SOME women as sexual objects" and the answer, Just look how some women dress, look at how women are used in advertising etc, its the media and society that's to blame, us men are just acting on our natural instincts, we see a woman dressed in a certain way, and we just act in response to that. cressida 25-01-2008, 20:34 any ways, your original question.. "Why do some men see women as sexual objects" Should read... "Why do some men see SOME women as sexual objects" and the answer, Just look how some women dress, look at how women are used in advertising etc, its the media and society that's to blame, us men are just acting on our natural instincts, we see a woman dressed in a certain way, and we just act in response to that. oh Ghozer how do you react to them do you salivate, ogle, make a remarks - isn't it possible for men to be a bit blase about badly dressed women, thinking perhaps, 'I've seen it all before'? Ghozer 25-01-2008, 20:39 oh Ghozer how do you react to them do you salivate, ogle, make a remarks - isn't it possible for men to be a bit blase about badly dressed women, thinking perhaps, 'I've seen it all before'? not really, I do get a little 'excited' (in my mind), and I think with most men, they imagine certain things... I dont salivate, or ogle, or anything, though if/where possible, i'll keep trying to take a second, and third, and fourth look, etc (and most men probably do too) but again, You see someone that's attractive/pretty/whatever to you, its just natural reactions.. You eat something that tastes nice, you want to eat it again, you see something that looks good, you want to look again, you hear a song you like, you want to hear it again, Its just the same thing.. cressida 25-01-2008, 20:41 would you take it further with these 'in your face women' or not bother? Ghozer 25-01-2008, 20:45 would you take it further with these 'in your face women' or not bother? It would depend on the situation, if they were just out and about on the street, probably not, but in a nightclub or pub or other such social event/gathering, may go over, say hi etc... plus it depends how they're dressed, good thing your only attracted to what attracts you :/ (if that makes any sence) however, I'm taken for so no :) cressida 25-01-2008, 20:55 so does that mean you are often attracted to this type, would you go and say 'hi' when you were sober or would have to have had a few? Ghozer 25-01-2008, 20:59 so does that mean you are often attracted to this type, would you go and say 'hi' when you were sober or would have to have had a few? You seem to be classifying as a 'type', its not, some women who dress in a suggestive way, aren't attractive to me in the slightest, while others who are almost totally covered are, Its not just about what they are wearing, more of the whole, and again, it depends who she is, where I saw her, etc if i'd go and say hi... sober or 'had a few' wouldn't make a difference. cressida 25-01-2008, 21:06 ok what if this person was an obvious bimbo, then there may be another who was only obvious when you chatted to her, these women perhaps are vulnerable in a way because they think that the way to attract men is with their physical assets - so they then attract the wrong tpe of men - those who would take advantage of them, this is very similar to the scenario which we read of where women who take up with pop stars or football stars and end up in situations where they are used Ghozer 25-01-2008, 21:15 well a situation like that, You always have a backup plan, Like I know women do when they go and talk to a guy, they often ask friends to watch for some sort of signal as a 'get out'... us guys often do similar... But then, its not very likely that you I talk to the woman in the first place, as even if she wasn't an obvious bimbo (as you put it), you can often still tell, as there's different levels of how women dress, in a sort of classy to none classy way.. cressida 25-01-2008, 21:24 some women (and some men I was informed by a man) have no fashion sense, so copy each other - and then there are people of both sexes who are just not streetwise, I don't go to clubs anymore, but I would have thought there was a dress code - I've heard of bouncers not allowing people in who were improperly dressed. I think Stringfellows in London operates in this way. Is there a Stringfellows in Sheffield or Leeds? UrbanCaveman 25-01-2008, 21:54 I think you're all wrong :P cressida 25-01-2008, 22:04 I think you're all wrong :P possibly, there can always be someone who knows better, he or she will be on soon I expect:P Heavens am I miserable now! UrbanCaveman 25-01-2008, 22:07 possibly, there can always be someone who knows better, he or she will be on soon I expect:P Heavens am I miserable now - where is that charming man? If you're all lucky, I might actually join in this debate later on. Won't that be nice? cressida 25-01-2008, 22:13 If you're all lucky, I might actually join in this debate later on. Won't that be nice? oh a night owl, join in any time you like or I'll end up talking to myself:hihi: UrbanCaveman 25-01-2008, 22:15 oh a night owl, join in any time you like or I'll end up talking to myself:hihi: I wish i could be a night owl, but it will probably be an early morning response. I do my best bickering when I've just woke up, my mind is clearer and I'm more p'd off i didn't die in my sleep. cressida 25-01-2008, 22:23 so I am going to bed soon, what type of woman do you avoid? UrbanCaveman 25-01-2008, 22:25 so I am going to bed soon, what type of woman do you avoid? I avoid the simple ones! Give me a complicated woman any day of the week. Every day of the week just to be safe :D cressida 25-01-2008, 22:38 Oh that's interesting - a man who can put up with a woman every day of the week, really do you prefer men's company up to closing time, and then a female later (just upping the anti) UrbanCaveman 25-01-2008, 22:43 Oh that's interesting - a man who can put up with a woman every day of the week, really do you prefer men's company up to closing time, and then a female later (just upping the anti) I'm not fussed either way! I tend to have the same type of conversations with women as I do with men. I'm no good at chatting anyone up so I just talk normally to them. I'm a real social animal, I'm comfortable with my own company but prefer hanging out. Anyway I find the best adventures and socialising is done after closing time, regardless of gender :D cressida 25-01-2008, 22:56 I'm not fussed either way! Do you go out a lot socially? Wish I had to money to, or lived somewhere that made it easy. I came back from city living in Manchester and am going a bit stir crazy out in the sticks. The forum is the only thing keeping me sane. But Jabbers is seeing to that one quite well! cressida 25-01-2008, 23:03 Wish I had to money to, or lived somewhere that made it easy. I came back from city living in Manchester and am going a bit stir crazy out in the sticks. The forum is the only thing keeping me sane. UrbanCaveman 26-01-2008, 10:06 btw I was in Manchester on Wednesday, I live eight miles out from there, do you miss the music scene? I miss everything except where I lived. Last time I let my flatmates pick here we live. There's so much student let property there that is sub standard. cressida 26-01-2008, 10:15 it's only 40 minutes on the train from Sheffield, you could always sleep over if you are in touch with friends who you knew when you were there UrbanCaveman 26-01-2008, 10:21 it's only 40 minutes on the train from Sheffield, you could always sleep over if you are in touch with friends who you knew when you were there That requires the money to travel. Y'see I have the time to go visit at the moment but need a job to get the money, when i get the job to go visit, I won't have the time :( I do plan on going soon though, I have to.
