I will be honest, I am not a big animal lover. I have however been amazed at the love ,that pet owners have for their animals on here. When SF gets boring, I come on the Sheffield Pet Owners thread and look at their photos of their cats, dogs, horsers ,budgies etc; Their threads say things like " My Susie is poorly" and the replies back to them and their concern really touches me. Also their grief when a pet dies upsets me, and I really feel for them. Its such a happy thread, keep it up, pet owners, you really cheer me up.:)

This group does cheer you up and plus it makes me realise that others love their animals as much as I love mine as I so often get the phrase 'its just a cat'. Even when people post sad news (and i get a bit teary) its so heartwarming to know that those animals have had a good life with people that have loved them

Yes, Im amazed at the kindness & love people show to their pets. The other day someone put on some photos of their dogs in their " new coats" . I smiled so much, and really went to bed happy. These pet owners in real life I should imagine are very nice people.:)

The forum can get boring some nights, but the posters on the Pets section seem to have a bond somehow between them Cant explain it really.:)

My budgie died yesterday and I have had some really lovely messages of support from forummers myself. It's meant a lot I have to tell you and thanks to them all :)

I remember some long nights on here when animal lovers have been hanging on for news of a sick 'fur family' member.

I've always said I love my cats more than I like most people - glad to see I'm not the only one. :)

Sorry to hear that, Joan - my aunt had budgies and they were always delightful company for her.

Just came back from shopping and it was sooo quiet when I walked in.:( For a start I hadn't had to leave the radio on for Sparky and he didn't chirp his head off to tell me that someone had phoned. He was always right, if he chirped there was a message on the ansafone, if he was quiet, there was nothing.

JoeP. Thanks and yes they are good company. He was a retirement present, so as long as I've been out of the workplace, he's been my excuse for talking to myself during the day, mind you having said that he did answer me back as well. We had some good conversations at times..ok no one else would have understood a lot of it, but we did and that's what counts. We never went anywhere if we couldn't take him with us..he's been to Sheffield and Selby and the Isle of Wight....oh nooo, I just realised, I shall have no excuse to sit in the back of the car now.:suspect:

It is nice on here my hubby always calls me and people like me you 'animal people'
But thats what we are and proud of it
as I say there has to be animal people
otherwise who would watch out for them
cos theres an awful lot of not animal people out there.
