I'd take her for a vet check just incase there's something you've missed

I would think it will be her teeth, perhaps some decay or an abcess starting up, you have my sympathy dog breath can be foul :gag:

I would get a vet to check to make sure there is no infection or build up. If its just doggy breath then "logic gel" can help. I works by breaking down the bacteria in the mouth, which causes tartar.

You can buy it cheaply online

www.hyperdrug.com

Chewing will also help, as this produces saliva, which again breaks down the plaque causing bacteria, so basically the more chewing the healthier the gums and teeth.

Even a bit of plaque can make their breath smell as we found out at the vets last night. Albert needs to have a scale and polish and then we need to carry on brushing his teeth each day. The vet said although the logic gel is good brushing every day is better. Be careful with the front teeth as it makes them sneeze. Our vets do a clinic and the nurse will show how to properly brush their teeth so we are going to have a go at this so we are doing it right.

Another thing to consider is it could be her anal glands if they are full or blocked it is uncomfortable and they lick their bums etc. and it can make their breath smell due to hoew smelly the anal glands are.

I've just had Eddy's anal glands unblocked as they were really bad and causing terribly bad breath!

I never knew bad breath was a sign of blocked anal glands until the nurse mentioned it. It's usually a fishy smell but all I could tell was it was really bad!!

Eddy seemed fine too - you can take her to the vet who will empty them for you (if nothing comes out - they're not blocked!) and the vet can also show you how to do it for future reference.

Signs to look for are bad (usually fishy) breath, licking and chewing around the genitals, chewing the bottom of the back and scooting their bum across the floor (looks like they're wiping their bums!).

Could also be kidney failure - if the breath smells like the other end.
My english bull has started to stink same at both ends - we are getting blood tests done next week, as he is also drinking lots of water.

Very worrying - there are some things that can be done - but its not a good sign.

hmm i might bath her and do her teeth today then see how she goes if it is no better on tuesday ill go to the vets.

she seems completley fine in herself she always wipes her bum on her bad or when we go to my mums as she has carpet. she doesnt seem to be licking or chewing at her bum much nothing out of the ordanary anyway.

she does seem to be drinking more water thou.

There is a thread on anal glands somewhere, I think it is called "Warning poo and bottom thread".

Dragging the bum on the floor, also known as scooting is usually either anal glands or worms. If you are up to date with worming then its probably anal glands. On the anal gland thread I have mentioned that sometimes, just by looking, you can tell if the anal glands are full. There are two pea sized lumps either side of the anus.
