And it's pears!

I've just eaten a rather lovely Doyenne du Comice pear and found myself with a dribbling, begging hound by my side- apparently she really loves them!

Aware as I am about the risks of eating the pips, I've just sat with a knife and sliced a pear for her and she's just eaten a whole pear out of my hands.

This is a dog who leaves her entire dinner if you put a piece of potato/cauliflower/carrot/rice/whatever on top of the dog food!

Strange creature.

Aww :hihi: I find that bitches seem to love fruit and veg much more than males, thats certainly always been the case in my house.
It really makes people laugh when they see my dogs all scrounging and eager for carrot peelings :D

funny animals arent they? My lovely old cat felix (rip) used to go crazy for steamed broccolli and Ailsa loved milky coffee and cherry tomatoes when she was a puppy but wouldnt touch either now. I cant keep her away from the maltezers though. We both know full well she shouldnt eat chocolate but it doesnt stop her - she loves to crunch them

My ex-housemates gorgeous little dog LOVED pears above anything else ever!!! She lived to 16 1/2 so it certainly didn't do her any harm!!!

I don't think that she got the opportunity to try much other than plain dog food in her old home and that makes her really wary when trying most new things.

I've also found out that she loves fresh cherries (got a dog with good taste I think!).
