I'm just wondering whether anywhere in Sheffield cashes personal cheques? i've rang Cash Converters and they don't cash personal cheques.
It's just that i've received a cheque and in my account it takes 10-14 days to clear and i would rather pay £10 or £20 to cash it if somewhere offers this service.
Thanks.
I think there's a place on...er...King Street? Down near the Castle Markets, it's the little road opposite Argos that leads down to the Haymarket, behind KFC.
I believe they cash cheques. Also, there's a Pawn Shop on Pinstone Street that used to do it.
Both will require ID like driving license, utlity bills, etc. Sorry I can't remember the details. :(

Years ago they definitely cashed more than one cheque for me when I was 'between banks' and they were personal cheques.

There's a place at the top of Mansfield Road at Manor Top and I believe there are a couple on Woodseats.
The Money Shop cashes personal cheques, but they charge a fee, so you wont get the full value of the cheque.

I would assume that they all charge for the privelege - that's how they make their money.
It's not soemthing I've had to do for a few years, but I think most of them charge based on the value of the cheque.
