My car is due for a full service. I'd like to take it to VW for the service. As I'm totally clueless has anyone any ideas of how much it'll cost me?????

easiest way is phone them and ask, it's not a secret.

If you haven't already had the service done at a main dealer then may I suggest the following alternative.

Dave Underwood - Ex VW Technician

His workshop is located in Sheffield City Center, the Swifts Auto center building behind Stokes.

I used to work for VW and the last I heard the Labour rate was about £70 / hour then you have the cost of the parts.

If by a full service you mean a 40'000 service then you will be looking at 1.7 hours to complete (£120.00) you may require a cam belt changein addition to your service, which if my memory serves me right will take apprx 2.5 hours to do. (£175.00 + parts)

Service £120 apprx
Cambelt £175 apprx
Parts £100 apprx

You may be looking at something like £395.00

Please don't mis-understand me the level of service you will get will be to VW standards, however, you will be paying over the odds for this and not really gaining much in return.

Give Dave Underwood a try and save your hard earned for something nice.
