The Lifelong Learning Institute of The University of Sheffield do offer an Introduction to Digital Photography course which has just ended before Christmas. I attended the class.

More information can be access at:
http://www.shef.ac.uk/till/prospective/generalinterest/it.html

From the above link click on the Module Information and timetable

But you will need to get a prospectus for the next class. Fees are divided into 3 bands which are categorised as Normal fees paying registration (around GBP150ish), registered full-time student or retirees (around GBP60ish) and refugees/benefit/non-income group (around GBP35ish). Note that the fees will change from year to year, those figure above is just as guide. Please contact the center for more information.

This course is open to anyone. You can even registered it for the fun of learning where you don't have to submit your assigments for evaluation.

How I feel about this course? Honestly, there is much weakness and the course wasn't well structured and the class was a bit a letdown. Maybe I am having a high expectation. However to be fair to the tutor, this is the first time this class is run, so there bound to be some imperfection at the early days. Hope with the next batch the class will be more fun and interesting. But I went for it because it is the most affordable.

Is there any more news on this? It's something I would be interested in.
