just bang the filter alternatively have you thought about a person with experience of repairing vacuum cleaners... I did just that once and he repaired it within 7 working days... amazing turnaround. According to him you have to have the plug plugged into a socket at all times when using it... so clever these people...

When my Dyson went wrong last year I found this site

http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/help.asp?article=56

It walked me through various procedures but my machine continued to make a horrible sound. I rang the help=line number and they listened to the noise to get an idea of what I was talking about nd then we arranged for a Dyson engineer to come out to my house. It cost £55 but he not only fixed the clutch but also gave it a very thorough overhaul and replaced three parts.
I think that is a bargain.

There's a dyson shop in Chapeltown. You could take it there. I always wondered what they do, maybe that's it.

Mine exploded the other day too, there is no way i'm going to repair it myself in case someone dies. Also need someone, I don't think it needs to be specifically dyson though as it was the plug.

Try buying a new filter for it, we washed our a few times but it never really worked that well. We then bought one for about £12 and it now works a treat.

Also try pulling the Dyson apart best you can via almost every button that is a bright colour just to make sure it's not blocked.

Hi, i don'i know if you found anyone but the man in the electrical shop in Hillsborough fixed mine and only charged me £3 quid as it was only a small problem. I thought that was honest!
