Weve had a cat hanging around our house for a couple of weeks now. Noticed a couple of days ago that its face was quite badly cut and scarred, and it seemed a bit thin, so we put some food out for it. As we sat and watched it eat, we noticed that its not wearing a collar, is really thin, has hardly got any teeth left, and its ears look all blocked up and infected. All in all, it doesnt look very well at all. Whats the best thing to do about it? Im assuming its been abandoned or something, its obviously used to people as it lets us stroke it. Do the RSPCA/PDSA take in and care for strays? We cant really afford to be spending a fortune on vets, but we also dont want to see the poor thing suffer.

You could try ringing the Cats Shelter to see if they would take it in. They look after stray and abandoned cats and try to rehome them. Their number is 2724441.

The RSPCA will take it but if they're full they will put you on a waiting list. Give them a ring and see.
