This wonderfull summer has been a blessing, what a joy it is to have a garden the other side of your door, although I am not a gardener and do not know the names of most flowers, I enjoy being in a garden for the sheer beauty and lovely perfume that one gets from flowers. To have a water feature and bird food to attract the wild life as well as the coloured butterflies and honey bees coming for the pollen is a gorgeous experience.

The warmth of the Sun for pardon

The song of the birds for mirth

One is nearer to God in a garden

Than anywhere else on Earth.

I agree a nice garden can be very calming and pleasurable although its hard work keeping it nice.

My simple pleasures in life include

A nice view, I have a great view of moorland out of my lounge window and I can look each day and see something different.

A good film, you can totally switch off when watching a film, and its over and done with in a couple of hours, no tuning back in next week, after a stressful day at work and you need to relax, nothing better than a film.

Travelling, to anywhere where you haven't been before is great, seeing whats good/bad about places.

Entertaining, I like inviting friends around (although I dont do it enough) for a meal or simply a beer or something and having a good chat.

there are many more like red wine, sex, beer, sheffield forum etc etc, although not in any particular order.

I have a beer patio and the traffic on Ecclesall Rd. I can always admire the plants stuck on balconies of the posh flats across the road.....

..but you could go a brief walk and you could enjoy the botanical gardens. It's not that far away now is it?
