I love a good Fun Fair...

Does Sheffield get them on a regualr basis? of just on occasions such as Bonfire night?

Southsea had a great Fair... my cousins used to take me & my sister all the time when we were small... Waltzers are fab unless you've eaten loads of Candy Floss before hand... 'quick stop the Walzter' :gag: :hihi:

Not recommended

I drove past it the other day and noticed a sign saying that it's open from 18th February to 5th March, free entry.

Not sure of the opening times though.

There was a young man killed there last year I think he was 18.
I have just come back from school and all the posters that were in all the shop windows have all disappeared.

Does anyone know anything about the funfair on Penistone Road or where I can find out any information about it?It looks like the one that comes here every year. For a travelling fair the rides are pretty good and worth a visit. Like BoroughGal says, the tall pendulum type swirly thing is a bit of a shocker :o

He was stabbed to death in a gang fight.

Early evening is ok, it's late on when it gets a bit risky.

there is actually 15 around sheffield a year the main operator of the fairs is farrahs funfairs the first is scream at penistone road then i believe parson cross and in amay it gets busy with mayfest has a big fair too and has rides from different areas of the country g force at halfway area rotherham herringthorpe whish is a massive event firth park, endcliffe, eckington , dronfield . in august hilsbrough park theres a balloon festival in graves in july which is run by international funfairs if you want more info on fairs see http://www.atfotf97.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=1 but watch out form meadowhall two showmen running it are not from this area and one owns a amusemnt park in aberdeen

My daughter was there too last year and she left thankfully 15 minutes before they started fighting...In all honesty i thought the fair wouldn't have been there this year

Is anyone else who lives within a stones throw from this monumental pain in the backside getting thoroughly hacked off tonight by the volume which the 'music' the fair is pumping out is being played at? It's making the double glazing rattle tonight.

Methinks the council maybe getting a few calls tomorrow.
