Having been not well for what seems like weeks, and consequently not finishing my Christmas knitting until well after Christmas! (oops - sorry dad!!!) - I've found that I've fallen out with knitting a bit, and can't decide what to do next!! I've got lots of yarn, patterns and ideas, but none of them seem to grab me. Any thoughts on what I should have a go at?:help:

Some of the possibilities are:

finish the socks I started for me in the summer
start some more socks (I've got lots of lovely Lorna's laces sock wool which I love the colours of)
knit something with the lovely stuff I got from my Secret Pal (?maybe a scarf)
some gloves (but maybe I should wait for the knit along)
a fluffy short cardy for the little one (she keeps nagging me!!)
Some dolls clothes (keep promising the little one that I'll do this and it would make me "super mummy"!)
finish a jumper for me that I started about 2 years ago
a bag in recyled sari silk (fancy having a go with this and bought it ages ago)
start the "throw" / blanket that I thought about back in October (but by the time its finished it will be spring and warmer!)
something completely different that would involve going out to buy yarn! (good idea - but the bank balance isn't healthy at the minute!)

So... any thoughts, or should I just keep wistfully picking up balls of yarn and stroking it and then putting it away again cos I can't be bothered to start knitting with it?!!!! :help:

Im sorry you havent been feeling well - had noticed that you had been quiet though. To get your knitting mojo back I would either pick something you really want to do (doesnt sound like sock 2 of the summer socks or your jumper is that thing though and it might put you off more) or do something very quick for instant gratification (stuff for DD would fit the bill here I guess):) The knitalong starts in 2 weeks so if you want to do gloves then this project needs to be finished fairly quickly - or it could join the jumper and sock wip;)

If I were you I would pick something that I really wanted to knit with yarn that I really liked. Even if it was something totally impractical that I would never wear...if it got me itching to knit I'd just do it :)

Sorry to hear you have been poorly Rachel.

I would either go for the second sock and then be exceedingly pleased with yourself when you have a lovely pair to wear, or something for your daughters dolls, they get cold in this weather you know!

Some of the possibilities are:

finish the socks I started for me in the summer Yes, finish these, you should never start another pair without finishing one first :o
start some more socks (I've got lots of lovely Lorna's laces sock wool which I love the colours of) See above ;)
knit something with the lovely stuff I got from my Secret Pal (?maybe a scarf) OK, maybe you could, it's not a sock :)
some gloves (but maybe I should wait for the knit along)Yes, wait
a fluffy short cardy for the little one (she keeps nagging me!!)Yes, the knitting is far better than the nagging :gag:
Some dolls clothes (keep promising the little one that I'll do this and it would make me "super mummy"!)No, not a necessary item and the cardy will keep you popular for a while. :D
finish a jumper for me that I started about 2 years ago Nar, pull it out and forget it
a bag in recyled sari silk (fancy having a go with this and bought it ages ago) Let it wait
start the "throw" / blanket that I thought about back in October (but by the time its finished it will be spring and warmer!)You could start it and knit it from time to time as a sort of break from other things. Yes.
something completely different that would involve going out to buy yarn! (good idea - but the bank balance isn't healthy at the minute!) No

Hope this helps :help:

Well its taken another week to get inspired, but I've finally started knitting something else!
Thanks for the suggestions! In the end I decided that I really don't fancy more socks at the moment (but will take the advice that I should finish one pair before starting another!), and have gone for the "quick result" option - a little cardy thingy for the daughter! I'm not keen on the yarn (some fancy eyelashy type) but she loves it and it will knit up quickly, and then the nagging will stop!!
I've got plans for some gloves for the knit along (assuming its still going ahead), and then have spotted a pattern I like for a jumper, so may just have to part with some cash! After that I think I might return to the socks!

I knitted my daughter a shrug/balero in eyelash yarn, and she loves it too! Yes, it didn't take long to do and I got a really good Bling Bling button from The Wool Baa to finish it off - smashing :D

Can you confirm what it is then, because I don't think you have made it very clear as to whether it is just gloves or accessories in general  ;)
