Help!

I'm doing a project with some school children based around Black Bank, off East Bank Road (think all that land around and behind the Earl Marshall pub) and I'm looking for any attention-grabbing facts that will grab them by the throat.

I already know of two murders committed there in the 1800s - one a young child killed by the mother's jealous ex, and the other a travelling merchant killed by a local businessman...

Anyone got anything else? Doesn't have to be murders, just needs to be interesting and based around Black Bank.

Well, the pub used to be the Midhill Club, when I was a kid.

I remember going in there with my dad as a Sunday lunchtime treat.
