Can anyone recommend a laminate floor supplier?

I've been to the usual places such as B&Q, Wickes etc but im not entirely convinced about the quality of their products.

I also tired Floors2go but gave up when the sales assistant couldn't work out how much flooring I would need!

It all depends on where the laminate will be layed. I recently bought some from Wicks for about £8 a pack and its perfect for the spare bedroom. You will have to buy better quality though if it will be used more often.

after just flooring my whole apartment i can tell you i've done a comprehensive hunt for the best quality v best priced laminate in South Yorkshire. My advice....ignore their maths problems....work out how much you need yourself and go back to floors to go. They gave me a 20% discount for buying quite a bit and service was great.

Thanks for that. I've already worked out how much I need but the guy wasn't convinced about my maths! I'll be buying around 50sq meters and underlay so hopefully I might get some discount.

Try Riverdale opposite the Wednesday ground. They have a good selection and a wide price range.

I fit a lot of floors for Floors to go and find them really helpful.

Just remember to measure the perimeter of your room if your having a cover bead for the expansion gap round the edges and door strips for each door way.

Door strips are about £9 and cover bead is about £4.50 for a length about 2.4m at floors to go i think.

Hope this may help

Try Wholesale Wooden Flooring either at Heeley Bridge or Penistone Road. We found real wood flooring there at 1/3rd the price of anywhere else. They do laminates too.

Plus, there was some at Glynn Webbs on Kilner Way off Halifax Road recently.

Did you allow for the fact that you'll have a lot of offcuts? They should let you buy more than you need and return the unused packs.

Unless it's tile effect laminate you shouldn't have much wasteage as you start the next row with the previous offcut. Personally can't stand Floors 2 Go - sales people are a pain in the arse and tend to know sod all about the ranges they offer in my experience.

Doors & Floors Galore at Attercliffe have a fairly comprehensive range and as long as you stay away from the 'Private' branded stuff the rest is high quality. They'll let you return what you don't use and will sell you underlay by the metre, not by the roll like most places

Expect to pay £15 sq/m or above for decent stuff
