Henderson's Relish is unique.

Poppins Worcester sauce is alot spicier in flavour than Hendersons Relish. I donīt like worcester sauce much but love Hendersons and thatīs not because Iīm a Sheffielder just like the taste. Why donīt you try some you can order Hendersons over the internet now you know!

Hang on, this is a totally legitimate question, and only wendy has given a decent answer.

I agree, Worcestershire sauce (and I'm talking Lea and Perrin's here, there is no other Worcs. as far as I'm concerned) is spicier and is far better for cooking as it adds a deep savoury flavour to meat/chicken dishes in the cooking process.

Henderson's, on the other hand, is much more suited for adding as a condiment after cooking. Splashed on a meat pie, fish fingers, chips or anything that benefits from a vinegary touch but with a bit more depth of favour, Hendo's can't be beaten.

Therefore I have a constant stock of both in my cupboard.

No it's definately not like soy sauce that has a totally different taste. Like Sam Miquel says it is quite unique and very difficult to describe but here goes..

It's tangy with an acidic and slightly vinegary but sweet taste. Lightly seasoned but not spicy. How does that sound? Nearest description I can think of - not very good at describing a sauce. Can anyone else come up with another description?

Does that help poppins? Hope so.

I believe Worc.. sauce has anchovy in it which makes it slightly thicker than Hendersons.

Really I didn't know that! Explains why I don't like it much then.
