I love my bed. It's what I would call a 'proper' bed. It belonged to my Nan and it came to me about 3 years ago. It's a beautifull old bed. It has a dark oak frame with huge springs and Walnut veneer head and foot board.

It's made by a company called Staples, "Wire matress and bedhead manufacturers to His Majesty the King".

It has a good firm, orthopaedic matress and is a dream to sleep on.

The only downside is that the springs creak like hell when you move!

So, what's your bed like? Old and sturday like mine or a modern, and trendy?

I hate mine to look at but its not bad to lay in. Also given to me by my nan as she buys beds like for some reason there is gonna be a major shortage sometime soon. Its a silent night one and its comfy to lay in, no headboard, thats bout it!

Mine is a pine thing and it's ok apart from the damn balls on the top of the legs at the foot of it, which I sometimes crack my knee on, that's making my eye water to think of it.
I like it. It's not too hard and not too soft.

I used to travel about quite a bit for my work and there is nothing worse than a soft matress, in a hotel, they make my back very sore.

I notice that there is a fashion for new heavy looking, wooden beds, with built in foot boards, for anyone over 6 foot in height, this would be totally impossible. And a right obstacle to a good bit of rumpy pumpy! :heyhey:

Ikea jobbie, simple but BIG. Slats supporting a pocketed spring mattress.

Very comfortable, although all the bolts need tightening so it rocks a little at the moment.

Hardest part is finding bed linen to fit

Mines your average Super King Size bed.
6ft wide and 6ft 6 long - amazingly comfy and plenty of room.

Depends which one, my normal bed is small and crap but warm. My other bed in the loft is massive, comfortable but cold

My bed is a king, sleigh-style with soft brown leather high back. It's made by the London Bed Co. and has an extra soft mattress on it. I wish I was there now :(

My new kingsize bed is on its way, one of these low types with a lip around it. Got a really big fat mattress too. Can't wait! :D

I'm moving into an unfurnished flat and in all my years of renting, this is the first bed I've owned! Hopefully, it will turn up on the day its supposed to so I won't have to sleep on the floor! AS it is, I'll be sofa-less as that doesn't turn up until 22nd March, and we move next week!

Kinky!?!? I said it had a soft leather back I didn't say it had satin sheets!!! Far from being kinky I like that it's comfy and the leather doesn't feel cold to sit up against and read the papers on Saturday / Sunday morning!!

We had a new bed a few months ago and thinking I'd get a bit more room, I insisted on a king size, - but it seems I'm still allowed just 18 inches of it.

The mattress is one of those multi-spring jobs and my bit of it is very comfortable...and it seems a lot harder to be pushed out of than the old one, - haven't woken up on the floor once since we got it :P

I have a new bed and mattress. I treated myself for christmas after sleeping a couple of nights on memory foam mattress at my parents' house. It was so comfortable I couldn't stop thinking about it when I got home.

The bed is a kingsize victorian style brass bedstead and the mattress is an even better one than I tried at my parents'. I would never have spent that much money on a mattress if I hadn't tried one out for myself.

My bed at home is a nice soft squidgy divan with lots of pilows and white sheets

Peter's bed is very confortable, but pine with a slatted footboard! I can't bear it because at home the bed stops about four inches above my ankle bone, and my feet dangle! I can't get used to having to sleep curled up, and keep banging my tootsies in the night

"My" bed used to be a single oldish, with a new but soft and quidgy matress. It wasn't modern (no silly slats) it was a good, solid thing with fabric round it. Quite old fashioned I should imagine, but definately more hard wearing than today's flimsy things. Usually had a pink duvet cover and about two pillows (MMMM perfect)
It has since been chopped up and bonfired since I moved out, but I can still imagine the feel of it :-)

"Our" bed is a "bed-settee" that folds up. It folds out into a double bed and has quite a thin matress, but I've covered it with a lovely goose down duvet and now it's all soft!

My bed pulls down horizontally from the ceiling and it feels a bit like going to bed on a table. I have no idea how it works and so am always a bit scared it's going to drop on my head during the day. On the plus side I don't have to make my bed in the morning, I can just push it up to the ceiling where noone can see it.

P.S. Can anyone please tell me how to insert smilies in posts?

I have one of those pine ones with a little lip all the way around the edge. Handy for balancing a cup of tea on when I'm reading. It's a normal sized double bed with a nice new mattress, and the entire underneath opens up to huuuuge drawers for storing all my cr^H^Hthings in.
