its all about putting your chances away, you did we didn't.
we did camp in your half for 20 minutes at the start of the 2nd half, but couldn't make it pay.
as usual all we do is go down the wings and lob hopefull crosses in, pressures on nobson now for the return at the lane...
i'am going for a beer now drown me sorrows............

It was 90 minutes of pure pleasure! To see Wednesday dominate the pigs in that way was just bliss!

From a wednesdayites point of view it was bliss, but as a sheffield footie fan i think we can say that todays game was also a good show from the home of football... and i will say that united didnt lie down and die today they kept going, just happy they didnt get owt from the game.

Even as a Blade I agree with that bit of your post. I fully expected the Owls to win today. Law's goal celebrations said it all... even if we'd scored, Robson would have still stood with his arms folded, looking bored.

I disliked Warnock because he made a very average united side into a good side that was successful, far more so than wednesday. As far as united are concerned, thats what they wanted and needed.

I dont dislike robson at all, and i think that says it all blades fans

Couldn't agree more, was an entertaining match with a cracking atmosphere.

So glad we won though, it was made even better by keeping a clean sheet, which i did doubt we'd do after the half time break

Justice was lightly done today...because wednesday could have realistically had 4 by my counts.

I know alot of the Wendy fans call for Laws head but one thing that must have been nice to see today was his celebration - Let me tell you something us Blades are all experiencing now. The grass isn't always greener. The way your manager reacted today reminds me of a manager we had not so long ago who would have never been so negative going into a derby game. But overall, you attacked well, soaked up the best of what we could offer going forward and because of that you fully deserved your victory. We could still be playing whilst your lot was in the team bath and still not managed to score.

Fully deserved win for the Owls. We was there for the taking and that is what happened. You can't allow poor defending like Bromby did for their first goal. The second was taken very well though.

I just wonder if we would have been spurred on more if Hulse's shot early in the second hadn't been tipped over with a fantastic save.

Ah well, moving on....

first half you'd have thought wednesday were a league above us. ive seen milk turn quicker than some of our players .
second half high hopes untill wednesday scored out of the blue ,then we lost the plot again . overall got what we desserved and if anyone can tell me what kind of manager says we're probably not good enough to get in the play offs and theres only two weeks left in the transfer window blah blah , when the team he inherited was a hairs breath away from being in the premiership a few months ago . i'll listen to anyone with a decent explanation . totaly ashamed of the way we played and the manager blaming anyone but himself. WELL DONE OWLS . even though you ruined my weekend.

Lovely result but I can't agree with some of the comments on here about Owls being 'all over' the Blades. United had a fairly strong spell at the start of both halves from what I saw, the second half being stronger obviously, but domination is not a word I would use for the way Wednesday played. The '93 semi final was domination but the squad was much better back then. Still very nice to see the goals go in and the best celebration by a Wednesday manager I've ever seen. :D:D:D Well done Owls.

You lot really do have blue tinted specs on.
Whats all this about battering us :hihi: GET REAL !!!
First 20 minutes both played like crap and now i know why the league positions are like they are.
You scored a well worked goal but any good defence wouldn't let a bloke stand alone with nobody within 10 yards especially when hes just about on the 6 yards line
After the goal it was back to 2 crap sides.
After half time United were all over you and looked like they were going to get an equaliser, they didnt and you got a 2nd on the break, not sure he meant to do it, but its in the back of the net and 2-0 and game over.
Once you went up 2-0 of course you are going to keep coming at us because we have to open up the game and chase it.
If Sharp wasn't offside and had made it 1-1 that would have been it, both sides would have shut up shop. You scored right after that and we had no response.
Be different at the Lane, hopefully BT will be fit.
Coming on here and saying you battered us makes me laugh, All i saw was 2 very average sides make loads of mistakes:rant:

That about sums it up mate.
If Sharps on from the start and we play 2 up front, who knows :P
Robson out and the sooner the better.
Dot was saying after the match, Saturday was made for Billy Sharp to have started the match.

Just remind me, how many goals has the wonderful Sharp scored since he came to the Blades as such a hot shot scorer? :suspect:

Anyone for a sour grape? Heavy on the bitterness. :D
