View Full Version : Ugh...Chavs Experience
natonstan 19-01-2008, 10:44 Well I am a 14 year old boy, and I am one of the " Good " teens, and me and my friend where walking home from school, and these 2 elder teens around 16 - 17 shouted to us, " Oi give me your money!" my friend then told him we had none and carried on walking then he ran towards us screaming, he just laughed and walked away, then he started swearing and shouting abuse at us for no reason claiming he would " drop us" among other thing, we managed to walk out of sight after this, but it really makes me angry how they feel they have to give people a hard time for no reason......
anybody else had a " Chav " experience?
kieran_grund 19-01-2008, 10:48 I would like to say it was a one off, that kinda incident happened to him twice last year.
One of them did actually have a knife out while he was saying that he would "drop me".
I gave him my wallet.
I'm hating british soicitey thesedays, its a shame its so bad. I'd hate to be a teen in the 2000's.
Just take a differetn route home next time, stay close to public areas and street lighting.
tifftifco2 19-01-2008, 14:57 no its not a one off this really does happen all the time, its gennerally kids who are trying to look BIG in front of their mates the best thing in my opinion is not to retaliate but dont ignore them either tell them you have nothing to give them and have to get home as cos a family member is poorly i used to do that when someone tried to attack me when i was younger just used the sympothy vote it always worked for me just keep your self to your self kid your obviuosly bright and alot more intelligent than them:)

Having been, on occasion, beaten up in my youth I can tell you that this is not a new problem. Idiots who are trying to impress their "crew" whether chavs, townies or (to a lesser extent) lollygaggers and guttersnipes, will always feel the need to intimidate someone to make themselves feel bigger.
Just keep walking. If they confront you, DON'T try to be clever or use long words, because they're STUPID and it'll just make them angrier. Take comfort from the fact their mother probably still bathes them and they're all puffed up just because they know where to put their legs in a pair of trousers.
And, if in doubt, distract them and leg it.
Chav fact #6:
The easiest way to distract a chav when he confronts you is as follows.
Calmly bend down and pick up a large rock. Hold it in front of you and tell the chav, "I bet this rock is harder than your head." When he says, "Durr, no it int," you respond with, "Prove it!"
You should have enough time to calmly stroll away before the chav has beaten himself to death.
My friend Shane was threatened recently, some Chav saw his phone, and made a beeline for it.
So, Shane broke his nose.
AlexDeadman 19-01-2008, 18:35 Does the word chav even mean anything? I saw plenty of theft and assualt at school but no-one talked about chavs.
AtticusFinch 19-01-2008, 19:07 Why did the chav cross the road?
To start a fight with a complete stranger for absolutely no reason.
About 2 years ago I was attacked by a group of chavs with peashooters on the 14 bus from the Manor! They protested innocence but I said if they did it again I'd be inserting the peashooters somewhere very painful, to them.
retro_84 19-01-2008, 20:44 Well im afraid its more common now than when i was at school, i only 24 but ah i wear the "knackered converse an skinny jeans" and it seems t be everytime i go out im being shouted at and called more homophobic names than i was at school. Im originaly fom swinton but now rent a place in broomhill which is great because students dont actually judge you on your apperance.
If only everybody could learn from them

SimpyTimpy 19-01-2008, 23:58 Or someone could give them a chance in life and give them some self respect, then they'd actually care what people thought about them.
beansforyou 20-01-2008, 00:00 I think i'm finding people moaning about chavs much more tiresome than the 'chavs' in question - whoever they happen to be.
But at least I can just hit my back button, heh.
Powerage 20-01-2008, 00:11 Or someone could give them a chance in life and give them some self respect, then they'd actually care what people thought about them.
I doubt it somehow.

You never know, it could work........nah, f*** it just squash them as suggested by an earlier poster.:nod::nod:

Thats because as well as being ****heads, they are also cowards..
My brother was at the train station in Manchester last weekend and was threatened and abused by a group of lads aged about 19 (my brothers 24). They threatened him not for his mp3 player, nor his mobile, or his wallet but for his......salad!
How pathetic! Were they just hungry??
They eventually went on to tell eachother he wasn't worth it and that he was a "f****** w*****" for not giving them his food.
Swan_Vesta 13-03-2008, 09:29 I had a pleasurable 'Chav' experience the other night. I was walking up my road and espied a trio of 16 -17 yr old oiks blocking the pavement, one standing in the middle of the thoroughfare one against a car and the third against a wall.
They seemed to be taking pleasure in the fact that others were veering around them so I took even more pleasure in strolling up to them (about 9 inches away from the Alpha chav) and instructing him to move - Which after looking up and realising he was going to get moved anyway he did of his own volition.
Chavs might be bullying scum but there's those of us who were being evil, violent ******** when they were knee high to a JJB manikin :hihi:
Does the word chav even mean anything? I saw plenty of theft and assualt at school but no-one talked about chavs.
It just means "youth" these days. Every story that would have previously be about anyone between the age of 12 and 20 doing anything is now a chav story.

Completely....whats funny is when you do get one chav on their own, and they decide to have a go at you, and they are tanked up on Stella, they have an amusing sense of total indestructibility.......I just love proving them WRONG:D

Weathergirl 13-03-2008, 11:23 I hate walking in evening near crystal peaks, you just don't feel safe with them in gangs when you walk past them.

Thats always the way- I bet they wouldn't dare confront you on a one to one basis, without you're girlfriend being there. You should feel flattered it needed 10 of them in the comfort of their own cars:hihi:.
addylewis 13-03-2008, 12:20 Chavs...don't like that word, everybody seems to use it since it came into use a few years ago.
When I was at school 8-10 years ago (oh knackers...that makes me feel old) we all called them "townies"
I prefer MY term "a gang of knob heads usually wearing hoodies who have nothing better to do than to cause trouble!"
GOKHUWHHBTCT's - they annoy me!
Surely theres a better abbreviation for that other than "chav"?
Discuss please

Best post I've seen today :)
well me and my brother have both been assaulted by a 17 year old lad now we believe its the same guy its gone pretty far so far should be a court case soon though im sure he will only get a 10 second community service, police now adays are borderline useless.
Hillsborough park is renowned for being nasty at night yet all the lights dont work and police are never there.

CHAV SCUM,
Ive never under stood the ie of being a chav!
Tracky bottoms, trainers and some cheap fake gold from Argos, and that’s meant to look cool, but the best bit is how they walk! Try and strut to look hard.:loopy: but look like chimps
Like one of the posters above, I'm also a knackered converse and skinny jeans kind of guy... and having lived on Manor for a while, walking to Spring Lane tram stop every day through the park just off City Road, I've have plenty of chav confrontations, mainly taunts of "gay" or "emo", and small projectiles thrown at me.
I'd like to take this opportunity to list my top three favourites:
At 3: - I'm walking home fom work through the park. A kid who couldn't have been any older than about six (but already had both ears pierced, of course) comes cycling towards me on a kiddie tricycle. He starts a bit of innocent small talk, and then says:
"Hey mate, d'you wanna buy my bike off me?"
I politely declined. Six years old and already dealing in stolen goods - the future of petty crime is safe.
At 2: - Walking through the park again I encounter a relatively peaceful scene of some pre-teen chavvy kids playing football. As I get closer something triggers a minor scuffle between a few of them, and they start trading insults.
One of them, who couldn't have been any older than nine, shouts "Your mum gives free head to to bell-ends at t' ****ing dogs".
None of them seemed to be able to come up with a suitable reply, and play continued.
And finally at 1: - Once again in the same park, a guy in a ridiculous lycra outfit cycles past me. Two chavs on a bench start (quite rightly) taking the ****. I almost felt some kind of emotional connection with them.
Then as I approach and walk past, they start on me. I just ignore them as they aren't exactly coming up with anything original, until one of them hurls this gem at me:
"Hey, are you a teacher or summat?"
He placed the same emphasis on "teacher" as you would on a c-word. I couldn't help but burst out laughing at the poor imbeciles.
I now live on Kelham Island, where there are absolutely NO KIDS WHATSOEVER. My walk home from work is certainly a lot less entertaining.
What about the prozzies though?
I know this thread is soaking with stereotypes and prejudices, but there really aren't that many prostitutes on Kelham Island anymore.
In the seven months I have lived here, I have not seen a single prostitute anywhere near my block of flats. Every now and then there are one or two near the HSBC offices, but they don't bother me at all.
And they don't tend to throw bricks at you or call you gay :)
sud bring back capital punishment that wud make em think twice
tom19890305 16-03-2008, 16:39 the youngest I have en counted is a 12 year old on a bike who rode up the side of me and stopped in front of me and said "oi you have you herd of the S2 crew.I said yes.He rode up beside me on his bike and stopped it in my path.I felt like laughing as if he was trying ot act like hes much more man then I am.He randomly said you better do I am part of it and if I ant I could get them on you so you better watch your self." I walked away smiling trying to not laugh.I have no idea why they aim for me I know they have bad grudges against Emos but I don't dress like an emo.
I had some drug dealing chavs about 14 of them hanging outside a caravan place I have to walk past to get home the other day.(I walk from Sheffield to outskirts of Rotherham to see my girl friend) And they obviously were to young to be riding these motor bikes or they were stolen. But they shouted same kind of insults they shouted at mich. They said their favorite one your gay! at me.I ignored it then one of them on a mini motor bike road down the road and flew back up the path I was walking on trying to scare me and make me jump off the pavement I held my ground and stood there and he had to dodge me and nearly fell off his bike and so did his 12 year old friend who was on the back.I couldn't hold there taunts and I flipped out so I went to the bottom of the road where there used to be a settee that got dumped I ripped a plan of wood with nails off and went back up as they were coming back down the road back to look for me to give more abuse hen they saw me walking up with a plank of wood and realized I was actually going to hit one of them if not all they all buggered off.
The_DADDY 16-03-2008, 17:06 Completely....whats funny is when you do get one chav on their own, and they decide to have a go at you, and they are tanked up on Stella, they have an amusing sense of total indestructibility.......I just love proving them WRONG:D

Craig7777 12-07-2008, 13:01 I like chavs
They make me feel better about myself :)
while living at Intake briefly i was walking with my partner & son who was only a few months old down past the the traffic lights between mansfield road & Woodhouse road a big gang of chavs were at the otherside of the road they thought it was clever to pelt us with stones they were very lucky they didn't seriously injure one of us if my little lad had been hurt that would have been the last thing they ever did.
yeah when i was about 14 this group of girls from one of my classes came up to me in the park, saying they likes my shoes etc when obviously they didnt because i was a "goth" and they were chavs but yeah anyway i turned around to leave and was faced with 3 twenty or so year old asian lads who proceded to punch me in the head til i fell down and then kick me whilst i was down there, the girls were laughing and cheering them on, managed to get away after a while but yeah, didn't go back to school, failed my exams and wasted a lot of my life living in fear and going back to college to do my gcse's, am alright now tho :)
spooferman 12-07-2008, 15:47 May be its time to eradicate society of the chavs

What this young fella is saying is a common occurance sadly

Council House And Violent.
Think your comment was a bit unfair as i have been in council (now sanctuary) housing for 30yrs as have a lot other people, some even longer. They didn't give the keys to kids then. But having said that i can understand why you said it, empty house nxt to me and i'm dreading them putting a baby-mother in there, because with one baby-mother comes half a dozen baby-fathers hanging round. We already have a few living on here, they can be very entertaining at times. Love the morning routine the best, They get up at around 7am at 8.45 they get the kids up, the rest of the time was taken up getting themselves ready, drag kids to school, drop the eldest off push buggy back home accompanied by 3 or 4 mates, leave buggys outside with toddlers in whilst they all run in house shouting and screaming to titivate themselves some more, making sure to expose the evidence of another sprog on the way. Why all this fuss, are they off to town to do a bit of shop-lifting or maybe hang around the food court at Meadowhall. No the answer soon arrives in droves, yep! you guessed it, the workmen are on the street, and the local bike-club (as i heard one workman decribe them) are out in force.:wink:
espadrille 13-07-2008, 08:19 This might happen occaisonally but not all 'chavs' are bad.
So true. None of them are actually.they just behave in a certain way so that we think that they are as that is the only way they can get any attention most of the time.
do you have a cold or is your coffee not strong enough. Not all youngsters are bad .but "chavs" have this name for a reason.
My fella's cousin has a lad and he looks like the typical 'chav' the cap trackies gold etc. I asked him why he tucks his trackie bottoms in his socks?[I hate it]He said 'I aspire to be a chav':hihi:He is a lovely lad works hard and is a love to his mom.
Plain Talker 13-07-2008, 08:29 You know what?
I don't give a monkeys how someone is dressed, be it in burberry, be it entirely in black, as a punk, or whatever, so long as they are not acting in a rowdy, threatening, or otherwise antisocial manner.
do you have a cold or is your coffee not strong enough. Not all youngsters are bad .but "chavs" have this name for a reason.
Actually the name 'chav' of today was given to the young with money .Lots of designer gear like footballers wives, not to the young kids on council estates that have trackies on and caps with gold soverigns on every finger. They aspire to be chav's.Youngsters have always dressed to annoy the older generation and make themselves look different.Look at punk and what about the eighties all that make up:hihi:Does not mean they are all bad.

Totally correct. We get all sorts on Shiregreen,Men shouting and weeing in the street fighting after too much beer. These are not what you call 'chavs'You do get some of these youngsters causing trouble I agree but not all trouble is caused by them.
i'm 12 years old, wear jeans, a black t-shirt and vans chequed skate shoes and you think i'm a chav? get real...
no you're in the semi-goth/EMO stage (you're right, I just DON'T understand)
Anyway I didn't say I think that, it's the phrase the media now use.
Actually the name 'chav' of today was given to the young with money .Lots of designer gear like footballers wives, not to the young kids on council estates that have trackies on and caps with gold soverigns on every finger. Wasn't refering to the way they dress, like yourself and plain-talker couldn't give a toss how someone dresses, I know the label was given to the essex types originally but as far as i'm aware( and i could be wrong, i am sometimes) it is now used to describe the type of youngsters being discussed on this thread.
The media has picked up on this word and given the label to every youngster on a council estate.I agree there are some of these idiots that don't work, never went to school, cause trouble, and make peoples life a misery but as I said before I know some that dress this way and have got full time jobs don't make a nuisance and are nice kids.My teen sons dresses in jeans and tee's converse or vans my skater dudes I call them which they hate. They won't wear anything remotely 'chavvy' their words.

Most reasonable people would agree with that I'm sure PT.
It would be interesting to look at the statistics for anti social behaviour and violence carried out by people dressed in chav style clothes opposed to other types though! :o Just have a look outside the magistrates' court most mornings - not too many suits, goths, or even student types in evidence. ;)
Hello anyone out there.
Whats an emo?
Whats an emo?
Gangs years ago are nowhere near as bad as todays lot. Atleast years ago they'd fist fight you, now they use everything and have no respect what so ever.
Why is that the 'chav' is the only group in our society that it's acceptable to bully, slag off, and permanently stereotype?
Hello anyone out there.
Whats an emo?
Whats an emo?
I've been trying to get the answer to this out of the kids at school this week. Their answers range from 'emotional' (which does apparently refer to your state of mind) to the type of clothes they wear. Some of the kids said it's a tag they give to people who are 'depressed'.
I'm still none the wiser, although you can fairly quickly work out which kids are emo. *shrugs*
Heres what gangs of the 80's were all about LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYLZVMhoiOY

It's what a dyslexic Aussie has on his national emblem next to the "knaggeroo" ........ I think!!
It would be interesting to look at the statistics for anti social behaviour and violence carried out by people dressed in chav style clothes opposed to other types though! :o
It would be interesting but I don't think such statistics have been gathered. Perhaps they ought to be.
Just have a look outside the magistrates' court most mornings - not too many suits, goths, or even student types in evidence. ;)
Or if you don't want to do that just look at reports on court cases in newspapers, on TV and on news websites and I expect you'll find plenty of chavs being convicted. Here are a few examples:
Two teenage boys have been jailed for life for the murder of a woman who was killed for dressing as a Goth.
Sophie Lancaster was kicked and stamped to death by Brendan Harris, 15, and Ryan Herbert, 16, in Stubbylee Park in Bacup, Lancashire, last summer.
The pair turned on Miss Lancaster, 20, in an act of "feral thuggery" as she tried to get them and three other youths to stop attacking her boyfriend.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/lancashire/7370637.stm

It's what a dyslexic Aussie has on his national emblem next to the "knaggeroo" ........ I think!!
PMSL!!
*shrugs*
From what I've gathered Emo is all about the music and the dress code, same as Goths, Rockers, Punks etc. With it comes the sterotype that they're all full of teenage angst (as many are still teens), mad at their parents and plagued by suicidal thoughts because growing up in today's society is SO hard man! Listening to such depressing music like Keane and similar types can't exactly help though. They'll grow out of it. :)

Thats completely wrong.Emo short for emotive as in emotive music or emotional because they are more in touch with there sensitive side. They are hugely bulied by chavs and encouraged by chavs to commit suicide. In some cases they have down to the bullying of chavs over the net or at school.Emos are recognised by there dress typically thick rimmed glasses, skinny tight jeans, a side fringe that comes across their face and also writting sad poetry. They are basically misfits who want to be different to everyone else so they take emo fashion and customize it to make them selves unique.I have met many emos they are very friendly, not a roudy type but random sense of humor.Hope this helps you.
tom19890305 17-07-2008, 13:03 Why is that the 'chav' is the only group in our society that it's acceptable to bully, slag off, and permanently stereotype?
Why are you trying to make chavs look as if they are the only ones been bullied? chavs pick on all rockers and stereotype them as satan worshippers telling them to cut their wrists.

A quote from Spike Milligan might help here:
"Everyone kicks ze **** out of ze Poles - zat is vat zey are zere for."
Or someone could give them a chance in life and give them some self respect, then they'd actually care what people thought about them.
Good idea...next time someone threatens you with a knife, instead of giving him you phone (which will feed his drug and booze habit today) you could give him a standing order from your account (to feed his habit forever)!
B.A.Sically 17-07-2008, 14:22 Beating-up drunk kids doesn't make you hard.
Then if they are kids, they shouldn't be drunk and if they think it's okay to dish it out then why shouldn't they be prepared to recieve it.
boutiquechoc 17-07-2008, 14:35 Chav fact #6:
The easiest way to distract a chav when he confronts you is as follows.
Calmly bend down and pick up a large rock. Hold it in front of you and tell the chav, "I bet this rock is harder than your head." When he says, "Durr, no it int," you respond with, "Prove it!"
You should have enough time to calmly stroll away before the chav has beaten himself to death.
lol :hihi:
