I dont think they will cancel the season, last season (2004) was a lockout.

Several players were signed by British teams this year either on minimal wages or for free just so they could play hockey..

If the players and fans think they are getting a bum deal over there the UK Leagues will give them a wake up call. The NHL is trying to restrict their wage caps to fewer millions, theUK cap is around £150'000 and we can only have 11 Imports with a maximum of 4/5 Work Permit holders.
