I am going with my daughter to the Give It A Name festival at the arena in May, and I have a few questions about it.

My daughter is complaining because she asked me to book standing tickets and I got seated, her friends are standing etc, and we'll apparently have a rubbish view (according to her, anyway).

We have seats in block 120. Does anyone know if this is a good view?

And also, you have wristbands for the standing area, right? Once your in the arena, would it possible to get in the standing area, even if you're seated? I know your not meant to, but would it be possible, or are they very stict about it and check your wristband before allowing you go to the standing area? I've spoke to a friend about it and she says that seeing as it's a whole day event, they may be less strict about it earlier on in the day when the smaller bands are on and the arena is not so busy, but she's not sure.

Thanks to anyone who helps. :)

Looks to me like block 120 is right at the front. They looks like very good seats.

I was in block 120 for the Foo Fighters gig and really, you couldn't ask for a better view unless you somehow managed to push your way to the very front of the standing section. We also had a nice view of the guys hanging around at the side of the stage before they came one and just before their encore.

Sorry it took me such a long time to reply!

Thank you for your help - I'm really confused right now, as people keep telling me different things, but angel b, seeing as you've sat in that block before, I'll take your word for it. :)

I've told this to my daughter, and her only issue now is that seeing as it's a festival, the stage is split into two (so bands can come on straight after the other has finished) and she's concerned that we'll only be able to see one of the stages properly. There's nothing we can do about that, though, and I've told her she can try and sneak her way into the standing area if she likes, but I don't see it working.

Thanks again for your help!

When you go down into the standing area they take your ticket stub at the bottom, and give it back to you when you leave, so you will not be able to get into the standing area from the seated area without a ticket. If she trys and gets found, she may be asked to leave.

Not a 100% sure of sheffiled areana but i went to the Give It A name festival a few years back in manchester and I think the only issue will be the split stage, and the fact that when the bands on the smaller stage play, its not normally shown on the big screens ergo if you can't see the smaller stage clearly you risk missing the bands.

There's no point her trying to sneak it, (trust me i spent the whole of the time i was there last time plotting ways to pull that off!) the security will most likely be very strict and i have seen people thrownout for jumping the barrier.

Having been in your daughters position before (hence why i got my stahnding ticket this year ;) ) i can understand she may be annoyed ...but just point out to her that at least she's still going! :) Thats something to be grateful of!
