Hi all, has anyone got any info on what happend to this
bus company they where the blue and cream ones that
used to run in sheffield did Yorkshire Terrier buy them out or did they go bust any one out there know.:help:
I always thought they were two seperate companeies.
I don't know what happened to them but they were quite prominant during the bus wars (particularly Omnibus).
I suspect someone did buy them out but am unable to tell you which company.

It's a long story but Andrews Sheffield Omnibus merged with Yorkshire Terrier. Both companies were owned by Yorkshire Traction who decided to merge them.

yep, Yorkshire Traction do own Yorkshire Terrier.
The Omnibus (great service but short lived in the 90's) was swallowed by Yorkshire Terrier before the small dog was eaten up by Tracky.
Tracky also own Lincolnshire Roadcar, Barnsley & District and Strathtay Buses..... a bigger company than you may think with a national span.
Has 2 be said though, tracky is a great family company!

I've just got to say that I think "Yorkshire Traction" is such a fantastic name!

They're kinda the underdog, but they're cheaper, always tend to turn up before the others and go to random but very useful places (If I didn't have to go Totley on the weekend I'd get a YT bus pass rather than a (F)irst).
I do wish Yorkie Terrier would serve more areas, especially in the south along the Sheaf Valley.
