My husband and i are moving back up to sheffield in the next 6 weeks and we are in desperate need of a double bed.
We need a bed place that delivers ont he day or the next day becasue we wont have a bed to sleep onwhen we get there.

What is that bed place called on manor top? It was behind the Woodthorpe pub.

Hope someone can help. Also we are looking for a cheap sofa, if anyone has one going in the next 6 weeks and can deliver to meadowhall would be great.

there's discount beds near bramall lane, up near the white lion pub on the road between bramall lane and london road. I got mine from there and it was a bargain.

Brigette, I have a sofa and two chairs coming up v. soon
but am awaiting delivery of my new one, so until they contact me (hopefully in next few weeks) I don't know when it will be.
I will keep checking on here to see if you are sorted.

As for the bed, have you tried Sunwin House? (in same building that used to be Redgates). I don't know about beds but they seem to have electrical stuff in stock so that you don't have to wait - a god send when the washer breaks down!!!! so they may do the same with other furniture.

sorry to be a pain but how much is the sofa etc and can you deliver as we dont drive?

Yes, our lad's bed broke the other week, and we wanted a new one for him pretty desperately. We went there, picked one out, and they delivered it free the next afternoon.

Recommended. Is it Alderson Road?

It would be free to a good home, as I have no-where to store it once my new one comes while I advertise it/sell it.

Delivery would be no probs.

The black and orange branded furniture shop opposite B&Q warehouse on Chesterfield Road. We were bedless and in the same situation last year...we walked in at 4:45pm on a Saturday afternoon. It cost £150 bedframe and orthopaedic (sp) mattress and they had it round our place by 5:30pm. Result.

Clearance Corner at Atkinsons does really cheap beds and they're great quality ones, they're ex-warehouse stock which is why they're so cheap! They also do cheap sofas, chairs and suites too. It's not in the main part of the shop though, its near Games Workshop! They deliver Tuesday - Saturday too which is useful!

We were bedless for a night or two when we moved, so bought an inflatable mattress (around £30) from Index. It was surprisingly comfortable and came with a battery operated pump thingy - takes about a minute to blow it up. It also packs away neatly and comes in handy for putting visitors on.

Perhaps worth considering if you get stuck.
