I hear that Lance Armstrong, will now compete in the 2005 Tour-de-france.
Whats the betting that he will win his seventh straight tour!!
my self and cycleracer will be in Paris to cheer him on at the end of the tour. (although i think cycleracer will be cheering for Yan Ulrich)!!

Is it gonna be on ITV or C4 this year, have you noticed cycling is one of the few sports where someone dominating the sport isn't seen as a turn off.

Anything is possible but reading in the paper today that Lance hasn't even started training yet. I hope his heart is in it too. It looks like he is only doing the tour this year because it was part of the agreement when Discovery took over the sponsorship of the team.
I really hope I'm wrong though. Lance has been my favourite rider ever since the greatest climber of them all, Pantani left us :(.
Ulrich has disappointed me over the years. I think with more conditioning and less partying he could have had a lot more success, but then who am i to talk! ;).

Once Armstrong is off the scene and retired gracefully then Ullrich would be another 3 times winner.
Ullrich has got another 3 tours in him I reckon so he had better start kicking Armstrongs ass this year.
The young guns Basso and Cunago are a real threat now and Ullrichs not getting any younger.
Armstrong is riding Paris - Roubaix this year and to be honest I think he is in with the chance of a podium place.
Can't wait for that one.

I was hugely impressed by Iban Basso (sp) last year!, Definitely one to watch.

I read today that Miller has had his ban put back so he can participate in this years tour. What's the point?....Maybe a win on the first day but i doubt he will do anything else, IMO.

millers ban has been put back, but thats so he can do the 2006 tour, his ban won't end till after this years tour!!
But thats supposeing he can secure a pro contact,in my view he never produced the goods he promised to deliver..
Another one with all the talk and no show,i am not a fan of Miller any way.
He's either making excuses for not performing,or bragging how good he is when he does eventually win a stage.

A friend of mine used to own the Bike Shop and he went to see Malcolm Elliot (sp) a couple of times in the last few years. He said he is a class above everyone else, even now!.
It must be brilliant being able to ride out with him. I hope you have some good weather for your holiday john  .

cheers Vid,
the weather was crap for a couple of days then picked up.Got the cyclist tan at the mo.
Malc was as usual on fire, think he racked up nearly 1600 miles, and that was with a couple of days off as he was under the weather.
Back to the british weather, and riding on crap tarmac..
Roll on july and the tour!!
