I need a new game for the pc but don't know what to get.

I've done Doom 3, Raven Shield, Vice City and Champ/Football Manager to death.

No god-games please.

Warcraft 3 Frozen throne. I recommend it for online play only though.

Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas

the best game I've ever played.

FarCry or Half-Life 2.

Both are good single player.

HL2's online deathmatch is good fun with the gravity gun.

Reading PC Gamer today there's two very different games that have just been released that they reckon are the business - one is GTR and the other is Darwinia - both a little bit different (which i think is a good thng) but great apparently

Darwinia was pretty cool, from the demo I played.

As well as Half Life 2 and Far Cry, I would recommend Call of Duty too. I've also had a lot of fun playing Battlefield: Vietnam (if you have broadband).

Battlefield 2 is out soon apparently (March) - there's high hopes for it

Half Life 2 is the bomb :D Has to be your first choice! I didn't like Farcry much :S Call Of Duty was good though but I found it a bit easy even on hard.

Half Life 2 saps your soul, and your time! How much fun can you have with a gravity gun?

I'm also hooked on Sid Meier's Pirates, which is a glossy and addictive update to the classic Amiga/Atari ST game of yesteryear!

Medal of Honour is a bag of 5hit.

Anyone know where I can get a copy of the old amiga game, Syndicate? I tried loads of downloads for the pc but there are problems with all the versions I got hold of.

tried running the original Amiga version on an emulator like winUAE? Failing that they did a PC sequel called syndicate wars, got that here somewhere if you want it, although I dont know if it runs in winXP, its that old its DOS based.

If no-one else has metioned it, Knights of the Old Republic 2 is at least as good as the previous, with what seems to be a much more interesting dynamic on party selection.

Warhammer 40,000 ~ RTS

Americas Army free download (http://www.3dgamers.com/games/americasarmy/downloads/) points based strategic 1st person shooter.

Excellent if you use servers that don`t cheat!

Developed and published by the US military.

I forgot about that. Rome: Total War is an absoutely superb game. I've been playing the campaign mode on that at work every day since October last year!
