Morning Folks :)

Last night at about a quarter to six my little Ford Fiesta was involved in a fight with a 7.5 tonne truck on Hunters Bar roundabout.

Needless to say, my Fiesta came off worse ;) Anyways I'm not hurt, just a bit of whiplash & one tiny tiny cut.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all of the passers-by who stopped to ask if I was ok in the immediate aftermath and to those who called the emergency services. Especially to the three people who stopped straightaway and stayed with me the whole hour or so to give statements to the police etc despite it being so cold.

It's things like this which really restore your faith in humanity! If anyone from last night is on here, get in touch and I'll buy you a pint :)

Rahven, glad you are not badly hurt. It makes a change to have 'nice' things to read

Glad to hear you escaped more or less unscathed (shame about your Ford Fiesta tho')

It's nice to hear that passers by helped in this situation, I would have too, had I been in the vicinity!

I hate Hunters Bar roundabout. Nobody seems to handle it properly, cutting lanes at the last minute and not indicating, particularly for the Brocco Bank exit.

Glad to hear you're OK though. I've got a Fiesta and wouldn't want to do battle with a truck in it!

the main thing is that you are ok. :)
As you rightly say I think it does restore a bit of faith in human nature that people try and help.

Agree with last poster too. Lane cutting for the Brocco exit is terrible on there.

That roundabout is ridiculous, nowhere near big enough to accomodate all the traffic flow. The other night this person just swerved right infront of me when i was exiting to go down ecclesall road then they started swerving all over the road.

Glad that you're okay anyway :)

Thanks guys :)

I forgot to mention actually how brilliant the paramedics and police were too. They arrived really quickly, looked after me very well, told me everything I needed to know and were really great people, so big big thanks to them. We're lucky to have such awesome emergency services in Sheffield imo :)

that junction would be better served by lights to control the flow of traffic.

Sorry to hear about your accident Rahven- hope it hasn't shaken you up too much and how is your little motor? Hunters Bar scares me- and I'm only ever the passenger in our little car, not the driver!

Thanks Kat :) Well, to be honest I don't think she's gonna make it. She had a good run though so can't complain!
