View Full Version : How do you like to relax?
crowefan 16-02-2005, 18:36 I have had a BAD day! so I am listening to I'M SORRY I HAVENT A CLUE, on line from radio four!!! I ham having a large red wine, and my dogs are curled up beside me
bliss
how do you other sheffielders relax??
Similair to you, but listening to Radio 2 folk awards with Mike Harding.
Go climbing to one of the many indoor climbing walls. Not relaxing, but it can definitely take your mind of things.
Kthebean 16-02-2005, 20:23 I find sheffield's many many pubs relax me :) and also the lovely peak district on our doorstep
I like to go for a long walk in the country! Then go to the pub for a nice ale:thumbsup:
pussycat 16-02-2005, 20:58 I like Sunday evenings, when I stretch out on the sofa, put the radio on and read the paper with the cat on my lap and the dog next to me. I find animal stroking is almost essential for me to relax.
Failing that I go for a facial - but then get stressed again when I find out how much it cost!
Sorry you've had a bad day crowefan, but at least you get to enjoy relaxing now.
Couldn't agree more.
Peak District on the doorstep.....failing that, a decent pub & good pint!
Simple, but effective
royjames 16-02-2005, 21:40 Simple, make love then have a few beers that does the trick for me.
Internetowl 16-02-2005, 21:50 winding people up on these boards often takes the edge off the day - and the next day you can always log back on to see how many biters you managed to snare...
;)
long baths and quite music .......
Don_Kiddick 17-02-2005, 06:13 C L A S S I C F M !
Frag some polish kids in Kuake3 Arena! Exelent!
Aside from reading Internet Owl's lovely postings- always filled with joyous news, good-natured persiflage and a touching optimism about the human condition, I like to do various things. I enjoy rough merriment with my wife and goatish couplings with my female, Filipino servants. I enjoy quaffing and imbibing as much good wine as is humanly possible in one sitting. Music causes pleasure, both for its restorative qualities, and in terms of its usefulness as an emotional heightener. Sitting with my feet firmly rested on the throats of Lib Dem voters also brings elation. So does duck-hunting, badger-baiting/gassing and mild frottage.
One reflects that most of the above equals sex and drink[ aside from the business with ducks and badgers]. This reminds me of my Great Uncle Derek- sex and drink killed him. He couldn't get either, so he shot himself.
muddycoffee 17-02-2005, 10:28 1) Make sure I'm nowhere near a TV
2) drinking alcohol.
3) Radio4 or radio6 is good.
4) while soaking in the bath
5) after eating lots of pie
What kind of pie? Meat and Potato? Cherry? Eel? How are we supposed to know? Be specific, for goodness sake.
JonJParr 17-02-2005, 10:37 To relax I like to cook, have a glass of wine (whilst cooking) and listen to some jazz. Going to do that on Saturday actually!
I'm a little :loopy: I find that driving relaxes me

My girlfriend's Dad does that too! Crazy!
muddycoffee 17-02-2005, 10:57 Meaty and trumpy.
There's nothing more relaxing than being full of pie and about to blow off, obviously doesn't work in company, has to be an evening on one's own.

How very different from the homelife of Prince Charles and Camilla, Muddycoffee.
muddycoffee 17-02-2005, 11:11 Well maybe her face stuck like that when she was pulling a face and making a fan with her hand during one such relaxing evening.
Daytime - Have a nice long shower, stick on a good film, order some food and lay down on the sofa.
Nightime - Go out with friends, pubbing, clubbing, dancing, shouting, pulling, sh**ing.
The best is when Nightime is followed by the above daytime. :P
deejay- i go for a drive too mate- i love it!!!!
But i relax by -
A) sunday times + 4 hours
B) Red wine
C)bath
D)Sex
if each one of them follow each other im the coolest, most chilled out dude on the planet for hours :D :D
Lying on the sofa with a book and a pot of tea usually does it for me :)
Coral Water 01-05-2008, 17:36 I like a nice warm sunny day, a trip to Ladybower in Derbyshire preferably mid week when there is very few people around. Sit quietly for hours in the country side with my dog (if i still had one) Its perfect bliss

Hmm, I'm a red wine bloke as well and usually with Radio 4, Radio 3 or a pre-16th century CD such as Buxtehude or St John's Passion whilst eating a sausage sandwich or something. :)
ToryCynic 18-10-2008, 12:24 Driving drives me up the wall: it's such a chore and I drive an automatic through choice.

Aaaaah - aren't they just gorgeous when they're asleep? They look so sweet and innocent and butter wouldn't melt.
Then 10 minutes later the buggers are climbing your legs or chasing each other up the curtains. :hihi:

Well, there's bugger all chance of George reverting to kittenhood, so I'll just have to get the ears and tails out of the back of the wardrobe, won't I? :hihi:
