help i have accidentley deleted digital photos on my new camera (yes i am a novice)
is there any way i can recover them ( or a place where i can take it )
i had photos of my grandchildren on it and would love to recover them if possible

There are quite a few programes around that will recover them,a quick Google will help,don't do anything else with the memory card until you run the programe.

following on from this link,I have just tried it on a sd card and it showed pics going back to July.What is the best way to format a card?I usually just do it in camera.
Format in camera is the generally recommended way of formatting.
Unless you have a desparate need to prevent recovery of the images you really don't need to worry that they are recoverable. They will be written over when the camera writes new pics to the card.
It's just the way storage media work. The photos are not actually deleted on the card when you hit delete, but the space is marked as available to the camera firmware to use.

That's what I thought but I suppose if I was desperate something like eraser would do it.
I am not going to risk it.
