Phanerothyme 16-02-2005, 15:31 rotate it 180 degrees every time we change the sheets flip it over twice a year! Probably will do anyway. Phanerothyme 16-02-2005, 15:43 Originally posted by Kristian How disciplined Phan! Frank Zappa was once in an episode of Miami Vice too... Siān 16-02-2005, 15:50 I turn mine every week when I change the sheets - I alternate flipping it from top to toe with a side to side flip. I draw the curtains when I do it though as it takes full on body wrestling to turn it over & I don't want to scare the neighbours:gag: muddycoffee 16-02-2005, 16:07 I flip my matress every time I change my bottom sheet. Every week or 10 days. I understood that you have to do this for hygene to stop build up of bugs, and to stop the springs and matress from sagging into one position too much. The matress is still quite lively after a decade. poppins 16-02-2005, 16:23 Originally posted by mikey I just bought a matress and allegedly it doesn't need turning. Probably will do anyway. Dosen't need turning ? must be the BLOW UP KIND ! Mo 16-02-2005, 16:46 Every 2 weeks. Top to bottom, followed by bottom to top then flip the mattress over and the same that side. Kristian 16-02-2005, 16:47 I used to work with a girl who was dead obsessive about her mattress. She used to vacuum it every week to get rid of dead skin cells. I don't know where people find the time to do things like that? K x Siān 16-02-2005, 16:54 I used to work with a girl who was dead obsessive about her mattress. About as much as so called "self cleaning cookers" clean themselves. If you want your matress to last... .... turn it. venger 17-02-2005, 22:54 Never to be honest, might put it on the things to do list sometime. Or not. Don_Kiddick 18-02-2005, 00:13 Everytime I'm incontinent. :gag: Karis 28-04-2011, 08:01 Turn my mattress? Well, I might be able to make it go bi, but going gay is a whole other ballgame... Sorry, couldn't help self... Thanks to Family Guy for this joke!!! Digsy 28-04-2011, 08:06 Is there any point in turning a memory foam mattress considering most are comprised of a hard foam base with x-amount of inches of memory foam, down one side only? backwardben 28-04-2011, 08:44 i sleep on straw how do i turn that:help: Digsy 28-04-2011, 08:52 i sleep on straw how do i turn that:help: one straw at a time. backwardben 28-04-2011, 09:33 ever tried moving a horse when its layed down Rupert_Baehr 28-04-2011, 09:40 I used to work with a girl who was dead obsessive about her mattress. She used to vacuum it every week to get rid of dead skin cells. I don't know where people find the time to do things like that? K x Not a bad idea. It also reduces the number of these (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:House_Dust_Mite.jpg) (which feed on the dead skin cells) and removes their faeces (which can cause severe allergic reactions.) People here often put their mattresses and bedding outside (particularly in wintertime) for a quarter of an hour or so to 'air' it and to kill the bugs. scousemouse 28-04-2011, 09:43 Vac every time I change the bed. Turning it is a different story. It is so heavy, it takes THREE to turn it, top to bottom, and to flip it over!!! I have to wait until I have some volunteers, usually you, you and you!!!!!! Scozzie 28-04-2011, 10:00 you should rotate it on months that have 30 days, and flip it on months that have 31. February is to let your back recover. (Don't flip it if it has an attached pillow top) *Wallace* 28-04-2011, 10:01 Ours is memory foam it doesn't need turning. |
