Channel 4 has courted controversy once again by planning to screen a live exorcism.
A young man who claims to be possessed will be viewed while priests attempt to remove his demons.
Critics claim that it may lead to an outcry of people claiming their possessed.
Channel 4 claim that this is a useful scientific experiment and will be shown after the watershed.
It is due to be screened on 24th February at 11pm just after the actual event.

I read about all this in the Independant on Monday, it seems to be the usual series of events. Someone looks into the strange phenomenon of exorcism in the name of science, the media stirs up the image of Max Von Sydow with a crucifix and the COE goes scurrying into the shadows whilst downplaying the importance of the ritual and claiming that most "possesed" souls are nutters wanting attention...
Or as is the case with a lot of people on my estate....repossessed.:P
I'm planning to watch this if only to see what's actually recorded by the machines they'll have the subject hooked up to.
Perhaps if the COE had a more open and honest attitude towards exorcism, the large numbers of people clammering to be dowsed in holywater would diminish?
