Just recently we have been getting a lot of phone calls that when answered they hang up, and guess what always withheld numbers.
I was just wondering how many other people get these they are driving us mad, it’s happening about 6 times a day.
We was thinking about going on to the bt thing where no one can call with withheld numbers, But then it come to me why should I pay extra for this and could it be bt trying to sell this thing .
Would be really interested to see how many of you get these too.

Yes - not at home much during the week, but tend to notice them at weekends - no idea what's going on with that.

I used to get loads, and registered with the Telephone Preference Service, and subscribed to anonymous caller rejection.

I still get calls telling me I have won a holiday etc, the pre-recorded ones, usually about 2 per week.

BT have said that these calls come from overseas, and there is no way to stop them. Apparrently, calls from overseas are not 'withheld' they are classed as 'unavailable'. Humph! :mad:

sounds like its sales calls a lot of them randomly choose a set of numbers i guess the first one to pick up loses i:(

I thought I was getting strange phone calls, I thought it was me, maybe someone's watching me, I thought THEY were checking up on me ..... ;-)

Over last few weeks seem to have had a lot of people phoning from withheld numbers and hanging up on answer. Didn't happen at all until recently, yay :rolleyes:

We get quite a few calls from our bank and credit card company. When you answer there is no sound for a few seconds and then it will either hang up on you or some dimwit will start talking, trying to sell you some sort of cover! :(.

Yes me too. I been getting a lot of hang ups lately, but i know who it is, it's LESTAT, he hasen't picked on me for a week or two now, getting me nervous, hold on ! better go lock the doors. DONE now i feel a lot safer.

My sister used 2 get them quite often at all times of the day n night infact it got quite frightening 4 her coz it often used 2 happen when the family had just left 4 work n she was alone in the end she phoned bt who advised her 2 change her number but she didnt want 2,why should she,they gave her a number 2 put into her phone 2 stop computers ringing in case it was that ,dont know what they ment by that exactly, but guess what no more phone calls.
