You know the scene your in the bath, phone rings you rush to answer it,only to be greeted by a recorded message telling you you've won a holiday or whatever.
How annoying are these calls:rant: don't these people realise you just hang up cursing?
I've got the website address to stop these calls
www.tpsonline.org
but i'm a bit concerned,by filling in the requested info to stop these calls am i giving them more information to use to bombard me further?

ive just registered on their site but it takes about 28 days for the calls to stop.
I only registered about 2 weeks ago....anythings worth a try to stop these nuisances.
Come to think of it i havent had any calls from them today and i have normally at least 3 waiting for me on my answer machine when i get in from work' i know its them cos they just hang up or like you said a recorded message.
Ive heard only positive feed back from this site so if i were you i'd give it a go.

The Telephone Preference Service will only stop cold calling from legitimate companies and it is well worth it if only to stop the double glazing guys.
It is unlikely that the free holiday scammers are bothered by it.
The only thing that you can do is when they ask you to phone a premium rate number, then report it to ICSTIS (http://www.icstis.org.uk/) and they can try and shut the number down.
These companies are usually a scam and cost you a fortune and theres nothing (as for as i know ) that the tps can do
you need to call ictis they are the watchdog for premium rate calls
good luck
