There's an advert at the moment on tv advertising a documentary about Norman Wisdom.

It's a song I've heard before, a kind of 80s electronic song.

Anyone know what it is?

Can you remember any of the words to it ?

Or can you just hum a few lines from it?

There aren't any words. I'm just going to have to rely on people seeing the advert and knowing what it is.

It's sounds like very early electronic music, kind of like Yello or Kraftwerk but I don't think it's either of them.

Try this site mate. You may need to trawl through, but it usually comes up trumps!

Ok, I've tried that website, can't find it.

I'll try and describe it a bit though it's difficult.

It has a kind of slow oom pah pah rhythm with a kind of 'circus' melody over the top. Although it's certainly completely electronic.

It sounds like it's being played on a synthesised xylophone, the melody.

It's driving me nuts this. I have heard it before.

It has an eerie quality to it, like something off Twin Peaks.

I wouldn't normally try to find a song with such a ridiculous explanation but I REALLY want to get it.

Can't find the trailer for the programme.

It's called 'Wonderland: The Secret Life of Norman Wisdom at 92' or something.

No but I just gave that same description to a mate and he told me what it was!

It's Waltzin Black by The Stranglers.

I like the Stranglers, but I never knew it was by them.

Cheers for the help though.

I'll leave you with a video on youtube with the song on it.

Video's rubbish though.

so glad you found out who it was, its so annoying when you cant find what your looking for.

It is a bit eerie, reminds me of a carousel ride at the fair.

The documentary looks quite interesting too, should be a good series
