View Full Version : Cheesy or not? Help!
gina2007 10-01-2008, 19:29 Okay, so in the next few weeks, my friend will be posting under my username as she doesn't have the net and has seen how good the forum is, so wants some bits of advice.
She loves the idea of walking down the isle to "Everything I do-bryan adams" And when walking out of the church having "Shania twain- you're still the one" Or "Shania twain-From this moment"
Or both.
Her hubby to be has said "Not a chance, it's too cheesy, will sound stupid"
Even though he's made a point of she'll be doing most of the organising so its her day, he's just the one shes marrying.
He's come up with no other alternitives what so ever. And so this is getting her down.
She gets married in May so wants to have all this sort of stuff sorted out.
Have any of you great forumers any idea for songs? Also, the "first dance" because he said he wants all meatloafs music to be played in church, reception etc... :loopy: Not very 'Romantic' for your wedding day...
Help please!!!
XmarblezX 10-01-2008, 20:10 Im having shania twains frm this moment on to walk down aisle! The intro bit where she is speaking! I dont think its cheesy
gina2007 10-01-2008, 20:26 I think the lyrics to it are very touching myself. And so does Rach. He wants her to walk down the aisle to the shortened version of Bat out of hell (!!!!) personally I wouldn't marry such an arse :hihi:
XmarblezX 10-01-2008, 20:30 Haha no i dont think i would be impressed she needs to put her foot down! And yes i think its a very touching song and hopefully the intro will just be long enough to walk too but i gotta do test run!

mine and OH song is actually paradise by the dashboard light, cos thats how i asked him out! i gotta think of another song for the first dance instead :hihi:
pinklady 10-01-2008, 20:37 walk down the isle to ..Brooklyn Bridge, "Worst That Could Happen":hihi:
gina2007 10-01-2008, 20:39 She can't think of much more of a way to ruin her day than having meatloaf playing. She loathes the music. She's said from day 1 of this stupid wedding she just wants romantic song to walk down and back up too. But he's such a *inserts many of rude words* that he won't let her. Even though, he wouldn't go to the fitting for his suit, cause "Foooooootball was on" FAT LAZY ARGHH He is!!!! This just isn't the stress I need now :( Due to give bloody birth in a week! And she dumps this on meeeeee! Aswell as a HUGE pile of questions she wants me to research for her :(:( World..please suck me away!
honeyb35 10-01-2008, 20:43 oh poor you! forgive me for saying this but.....why the heck is she? it sounds like the day is more important to her, and he doesnt sound like he should be marrying ANYONE! my OH is leaving all the planning to me, but thats cos he hasnt a clue as opposed to not wanting to!
honeyb35 10-01-2008, 20:44 and speaking of music I'm sat with 'the hits, top 50 love songs' on, waiting for inspiration to strike :hihi:
XmarblezX 10-01-2008, 21:18 I agree with honey my OH is not involved as such but he keeps making little suggestions so i know he cares he just doesnt know where to start really but i know hes all for it as it was his idea. She should tell him she needs some sort of support even if its just little things
gina2007 10-01-2008, 22:17 Honey And Marblez; I don't know why she is. It's booked for 12th May (I think..) and the other day he told her that there was a Football game on 12th May (The same day as their wedding anyway) and she said 'Ahem..Thats meant to be the wedding day' and he suggested that the reception, stops the music for 90minutes, and puts on sky facking sports!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So he can bore his guests to death with Foooooooootball. He's lazy, idle horrible i've never liked him and she's abit young and naive (21) and he's like 30 odd! One thing came to mind when she introduced him, and no it wasn't a 'lovely bloke' kind of thing! She'll be his fourth wife, in 8 years. Oh and she'll be the one with the least age difference. Hmm...He is abit touchy feely kind of man (P***y) Think you know what i'm trying to say. ARGH...How can I talk her out of this? Or should I let her make her mistakes? Non of her family are going to the wedding cause they've tryed to talk her out of it! Arrgh what should I do?
honeyb35 10-01-2008, 22:24 argh! what an awful situation to be in. I havent a clue what to say really. if shes absolutely set on going ahead, and even her own family can't persuade her otherwise theres nothing she'll listen to sadly. He sounds like a complete *farce* (well it rhymes with my other thought :hihi: ) but at 21 only she can make her mind up. Poor girl....
XmarblezX 10-01-2008, 22:27 I would give her your opinion, but love is blind as they say and i know frm experience that when some1tells u to do something then more often than not u will do the opposite im still guilty of that, just be a good friend to her and be there if and when she needs u! People learn frm there mistakes or most do anyway haha
gina2007 10-01-2008, 22:37 She is adament she wants to make a go of it. All her family doubted it all, from the day she introduced him they all said 'Stay away' but she didn't listen and now she's mainly doing it to proove her family wrong. He is the wrong sort of man for ANY woman. I'm going to tell her my opinion but let her make her choices. She always tells me I bang on like an old lady :hihi: If only I could make her see him for what he really is!! She wonders why shes the fourth wife, not to mention however many previous partners he's had! He won't give her real reasons as to why the other 3 didn't work. I'd say it was violence in the relationships but I can't say for sure. Then again, behind closed doors he might be a wonderful hubby to be who cooks for her and massages her feet every night.
We are having Kenny Rogers - Through the years, for my walk down and when we come back up were having Leona Lewis - I will be
Took 9 months to choose them, both songs ahve meanings that are right for us, I love them both
