how come hes known has chainsaw trev?...

i should imagine his techniques possibly a bit like hacking?

chain saw trev he used to have a yellow jag i remember he cut some poor soles ear just stuck a plaster on and finished acking his hair he still had to pay happy days

He was known by this name when our sons were at Carter Lodge School in the 1980's, is he still there?

He certainly is but i think only for a couple of days now

The only day he closes is Monday. A gud'n for charities and the haircuts pass on a good day. He's got the patience of Jobe with kids. Oh and if you didn't know he closes Saturday afternoon if "United's" at home. Chainsaw or tricky it's the came to Trev. :D

i moved away from hacky in 91 it would not be the same when trev retires

He had loads of war memorabilia in the shop, if I remember right. My son was very impressed with it! He also did drag at the panto every year, ugly sister kind of stuff. Decent haircuts too!

iv been visiting this barber shop for many a year, it was originally owned by Mccullocks or something like that, Trev must have been here at least 30 years plus. Iv visited this shop every 3 weeks for the last 30 years and can recall many interesting stories but the best one was one friday summers evening , it was very hot outside and Trev had the shop door open and in walked a pigeon it went straight past the gents and through into the ladies, me and trev both glanced and smiled and then Trev said " It must be a female pigeon if its gone through to the ladies" I said to Trev "I will catch it for you " there were feathers all over! it went to roost on the petition above for about 20 minutes before flying down and walking out of the door. Hackenthorpe shops would not be the same without Chainsaw Trev, LONG MAY HE CONTINUE! hes the best barber around.

There is now a notice in the shop window. "Trev's still here" Saw it when I went for a #2 !!

my brothers have been going there since toddlers, whenever they needed a haircut, it was always 'we're off to chainsaws' - ah the memories

I went in other day for a haircut and I've known trev a few years now. Had a trim and tidy charged me full price fair enough I though. I got home and then noticed he'd left one side longer than the other :mad:

Can you put a parting starting from the right a finish on the left, one sideboard below the ear the other above and a step in the niddle of the back? No I can't!!!! Well you managed it last time

he is a legend the only barber i know that you go in for one thing come out with something else and no one ever complains ha ha and good help wednesday fans thats when he closes his eyes to cut ha ha long live chainsaw:hihi::help:

He was there in 68, he was Mrs Mac's lad. I Used to got there for a "Singing" and a "Bay rum rub". Used to do a nice crew cut for the nitt kids. :hihi:

So you think that Trev’s hair cutting leave a lot to be desired. Well listen to this...

I am His brother and when he started learning to be a barber I was his guinipig. He practiced on me for several years and that is why I look as horrible as I do now and have no hair and only one ear! :gag:

I remember so well One day he said "I now know how to give you a cut throat razor shave" me immediate response was "you must be joking, I am off to the pub"

Had my haircut many a time in the past at Trevs,(and so have my dad n bros)
Always tried to avoid talking about the owls whilst in the middle of a cut.
He had a habit of talking to others while cutting my hair,(it seemed like hours)
I always thought the floor wasn't level coz my hair would sometimes be shorter on one side.
Great bloke though..LONG LIVE BOZ-EYED TREV!

If you live at Hackenthorpe you HAVE to go to Trev's for a haircut - it's the law :hihi:

I remember when I first moved here aged 10 in 1986, I heard the nickname 'chainsaw' and was terrified of going for ages - I went somewhere else for the first couple of years :hihi: Now been going there for over 20 years and wouldn't go anywhere else.

ps: The guy that got his ear cut and only had to pay normal price was lucky, it's up on the price board as an extra £1 for an ear trim :hihi::hihi:

i took my kids to Trevs when they were kids...now they are taking their kids....takes him ages to cut yer hair becs he never stops talking....but the laugh you have there is brilliant....dont know what we would do without him now.....we love you Trev...

my dad always used to take my brother there for a short back and sides and a bit of top one week dad was ill so i had to take him which i wasnt happy about so i told the barber he wanted a crew cut on the shortest cut. The barber laughed as he knew my dad and brother but he did as i asked all the same. I can still remember the look on dads face when we got back home.

trev is a legend he cut my hair from being a little un and now cuts my kids hair! my kids wont let him get away without the silly hair gel slap lol, always good for a chat what a lovly bloke long live chainsaw:hihi:

my mum still goes to that salon i will always remember her taking me to have all my hair cut off and it was trev that did it and it was a right mess :(
