View Full Version : Dr. martens in sheffield?
HarrietStar 15-02-2005, 13:16 Hi,
is there anywhere in sheffield that sells dr.martens shoes for women? I know the shoe shop in orchard square does but they have a limited selection. is 'raw shoes' in Chapel Walk, Fargate still there?
thanks, Harriet
Raw has closed down :(
They do sell some DM's at JJ's (army surplus) on London Road, but probably not womens.
I got my last pair of DM's from Shellys in Leeds, they had a huge range.
HarrietStar 15-02-2005, 13:27 thanks nick, leeds is not an impossibility as it is for my sister in law's birthday pressie and she lives in leeds :)

Well, if your going to Leeds you should have no problems, there are loads of good shoe shops in Leeds.
evildrneil 15-02-2005, 14:03 I always got my DMs from Harry Webb on the market - dunno what ranget they have for ladies though :o
Why bother going all the way to leeds- your best bet is to look online!!!

And there is a stall on the Moor that sells a lot of DM's.
Schuh stock DMs for women (or at least they did about a year ago when I got mine there). I seem to remember that the Meadowhole version had more of a choice than Fargate.
HarrietStar 15-02-2005, 15:47 ah I didn't know there was a schuh in meadowhall, i will try there. I spoke to shelly's and they seem confident they have a good range just come in. I would buy online but as its not for me, I think its best for my sister in law to look at them first, try them on etc rather than risk going wrong online :)
thanks for all the help :)

There's a shop on Division Street that sells women's Doc Martens. It's a couple of shops up from the Frog and Parrot on the same side.
Also an outdoors activity shop between the Bankers Draft and Argos Superstore in the sh*tty end of town.
Internetowl 15-02-2005, 17:10 in years gone by there used to be a DM shop at Manor Top....has that gone too....I note the stagecoach stops missing these days....
My better half informs me that the Schuh in town in in Orchard Square not Fargate......FORGIVE ME

That would be Mr Webb himself. Ask him or his wife and he can usually order anything you want in, I shop there often and he gets what I ask for.

There are definately DMs in Schuh in Meadowhall. I was in there the other day, and there were plenty to choose from.
why not try Progressive footwear on woodbourne road They do lines of DMs not steel toe caps either
bartman82 17-02-2005, 08:42 if you have patience i would try and contact the Rushden and Diamonds Football Club Shop. They are sponsored by Dr Martens and as such they have really good bargains........
HarrietStar 17-02-2005, 10:53 thanks for all the advice everyone :) we will try meadowhell on the weekend and if schuh doesn't satsify our needs we will try shelly's in leeds. If worse comes to worse I can get my dad to go to the DM shop in covent garden. thanks very much guys :)
MuteWitness 24-06-2005, 10:32 Wanting some boots like doc martens but cheaper, anyone know of any good places to look?
The boot stall at the bottom of The Moor ?
MuteWitness 24-06-2005, 10:39 thanks - will have to check that out!
jgharston 24-06-2005, 10:42 I get my Doc Marten shoes from Schuh in Orchard Square for £55. They last me two years walking about 80 miles per week.
Do you want something cheap that falls apart after a few miles, or something a bit More expensive that gives you 8000miles of wear - that's 0.6p per mile!

I'd have a look in JJ's on London Road too, a decent pair of army boots can be re-soled again and again.

BoppinBruce 25-06-2005, 07:58 If you want some Docs, get em quick as the manufacture has been transfered to China. The reason is that the manufacturing base in Rushden called in the receiver. This was do, in part, to poor sales and the owner pouring loads of his profits into Rushden and Diamonds football club.
It's not clear whether the name has been sold, hence Docs could be any design from now on, or the designs have been sold as well.
If you want some, get them while you can before cherry reds become museum pieces
