With regards to the strike, still no movement from either parties on an agreement. The Golden Globes has been cancelled this weekend as no actors were going to show up for the event. The studios are now using the tactic of laying off other workers due to lack of work (with no scripts, there is nothing to do), so lighting, technical, office staff, etc are going to be out of jobs over the coming weeks. The networks point the fingers at the WGA for the layoffs, and are trying to sway opinion against the writers.

Public opinion is with the writers on this, and there seems no end in sight at the moment. Many TV shows have been postponed or scrapped due to lack of work....a quick list of a few...

24 - only 6 episodes were scripted by the time of the strike. Fox have shelved the season until further notice (hints that it wont be back until 2009)
Galactica - without the full season, the cast are already considered to be 'suspended from work'. Unsure what will happen now with regards to the final episodes once the strike is over. The episodes currently in the can are planned to air around May/June
LOST - 8 episodes ready to air.
Heroes - No scripts ready for the rest of the season
new shows such as Chuck, Reaper, Journeyman, Pushing Daisies - all have run their course of episodes, and the axe looms for them to not re-commence (Journeyman has already been scrapped). Pushing Daisies' last episode ending was reshot to make it a closing scene for the whole show in case it goes no further (although the netwrok has said they want it to continue)

Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles begins this weekend for a 13 episode run in the US, making it possibly the only new genre show any network will be showing over the coming months (mark that down as a ratings success already). Although Stargate Atlantis had all 20 episodes ready so will still be running for a few more weeks.

I was gutted to hear that Heroes Season 2 will be ''delayed until further notice'' due to the writers strike!

It has also affected the new season of Desperate Housewives too!!

Least it won't spoil my much anticipated viewing of the new Life on Mars spin off....Ashes to Ashes....shame there is no John Simm tho'
