Ok just booked my car in for MOT next week at Reg Vardy, they said it is going to cost £49, that seems alot to me, does anyone know of any decent MOT places in the city centre that are cheaper but won't rip me off?

Yes, I have taken my car to Top Tread for past few years and they are great. Another bonus for me is that they are open on Saturday afternoons, which is extremely handy.

It justifies a nice walk in town while the job's done, and no worries about parking.

PA Autos just off West Street behind the Cavendish pub. Pretty honest blokes, mainly VW specialists.

yup - top tred gets my vote too- always go to them for tyres too- very quick and friendly!!!

Thank you all for your suggestions, I will look into them. Thought £49 seems a lot, but cos I'm a girl I think I am always expecting to be ripped off with car type things :rolleyes:

If you don't mind a bit of a drive, you could take it out to Ernest James Lorry place in Thurgoland, only charge £20 and he's sound as a pound
