View Full Version : Automatic logging off.
The_DADDY 09-01-2008, 09:48 When i log onto SF, as soon as i got to another forum page i find im logged out. I can log straight back in again and things seem ok now
but has anyone else had this problem with SF?
Oooh...this used to happen occasionally to folks some time back but then seemed to clear itself up.
Have you tried clearing your cookies (the IE equivalent of turning it off and on again!!) :)

Hiya,
Great stuff - normally just clearing the cookies from within the browser Tools option does the trick, but as to why it happens we never worked it out. :)

Probably just one of the many unexplainable things that happen with pcs from time to time. At least i now know how to go about fixing it next time.
Thanks again Joe..:)
This happened to me not long back. I was using a mates laptop with IE7 and everytime I wrote a post or PM and tried to send it, I was asked to log back in. It hasn't happened with FF but I do find SF hangs a lot when loading in FF.
Ooh yes...
I upgraded to IE7 a few days ago and had exactly the same problem. Especially on SF, I'd log on, it would welcome me back then I'd be instantly logged off again. There were also some websites I couldn't access (perfectly normal ones before you start sniggering). In the end I had to restore to a point five days ago and everything is fine now.

IE7 has been a bit of a mixed bag of stuff in my experience. It's been the first offering from Microsoft that's actually stopped me using soem sites.
Horrible situation for me - I actually endd up installing Firefox for the sites concerned. :)
I am always getting logged out, I log in, search and have to log in again and as soon as I reply to a thread I have to log in again. This has been happening for a long time.
Fiat500 - have you tried clearing your cookies as per the FAQ?
Also, if you feel 'safe' about leaving your computer logged in to SF (i.e. no one else needs to use SF on your PC and it's NOT a public machine, like in a library) log out, and then log back in, but tick the 'Remember Me' box. That might help stop you getting logged out.
I delete my cookies and my temp internet files on a regular basis, usually every week. Tesco shopping driving me up the wall today, have to keep going to checkout and go back in and carry on shopping, would have been quicker driving to the shop and doing it myself. I wish when they update sites they make sure they work. Well that's off my chest
ps: Just gone to preview and had to log in again :loopy:
Forum been ok for about a week now it's started logging me out again. Log in to reply to a thread, by the time I have typed the reply have to log in again to submit it.
Logged in, replied to a thread, had to log in again to submit it. Don't think I will mention the logging out problem again and just live with it...computers....drive you up the wall
