View Full Version : URGENT, Need to contact 'CREATOVATE', disability arts Group

I guess that this thread fits in OK in the 'Going Out in Sheffield' Category, as it concerns a group which in the recent past, at least, has put on monthly shows at the Showroom/Workstation:

I was URGENTLY wanting to contact CREAT-O-VATE, a local group dedicated to celebrating diversity and promoting disability arts, as I was interested in them getting involved in a local mini-arts festival which I am planning for late May/early June.

I have looked for their website (www.creatovate.com -exact spelling-) but all I can come up with are error messages saying that the site is unavailable; needless to say, their flyers only have this website address and no phone number or email at all on them. I have trawled the web with Google for an alternative web presence of the group, but I have had no success at all; there is nothing but 'secondhand' references to them and recent events which they have organised, such as in late 2007, at the Showroom.

The question is, therefore:

1.)Does Create-O-Vate still exist?

2.)If so, WHO can I contact regarding getting involved with the group, and getting them interested in this festival I am planning?

3.)If Create-O-Vate doesen't exist any more in its former guise, has it been replaced by a new group/name? Or have people who formerly organised it set up new arts ventures, and how may I contact them, as I would STILL be interested in them getting involved in the festival on an individual basis.

I hope someone out there can help me in my request!

Sorry, Showroom, no joy. I tried emailing the address you gave me, and it just bounces back immediately without sending the mail, saying there is 'no such box' or a broken link. And Yes, I DID make sure that I spelt the address as you sent it to me...

A Phone number, I think, would be more appropriate...!

Apologies for this, however that was the email address given by the group. I'm in the process of tracking down another contact and will send you details in a message later today.

Hi There,

Sorry I don’t check the forum much, so sometimes messages like this can sweep me by. Anyway our last live evening was back in late September at the Workstation. At the moment we’re focusing on giving platforms to a much wider selection of performers who celebrate all types of creativity across Sheffield (although we still have a particular interest in disability arts when we can).

We have a radio show on SheffieldLive (live performances, monologues, sketches, drama, plays, bands) and still try and put on around 2-3 live shows a year. Sorry about the website, I’m currently trying to find a new home for the it and should have something up and running soon.

Although the creatovate group is a little fractured at the moment I’m still in touch with most people, so send me an email at cornucopia.radio@googlemail.com (that’s the name of the radio show) and let me know what you’re planning and we’ll see how we can help out.

Latter,
Pete

Thanks ever so much Pete; I'll send you an email from my regular account, as I don't have any spare space left anymore in my Shef. Forum Milbox!

Pete, I though I'd better just tell you that I DID email you about FOUR DAYS AGO at the email address you gave me, and I have received precicely NO REPLY WHATSOEVER.

Peter, I think it would be better if you contact me DIRECT, TOUTE SUITE, by email on dan@alacroart.com or by phone -I will email you my phone number at the Cornucopia address.

Thanks, Tyranna.
