anyone know of any potato days in our area ? I've never been to one before, but understand they worth trying to get to ? If there are any, does anyone fancy going - my OH doesn't do gardening

With it being the UN International Year of the Potato, there has to be a potato day around here, surely!

Been looking for them recently too. Closest one I found was in West Yorks, near Bradford (?). Afraid I just ordered some from Alan Romans in the end - too inpatient :hihi:

Maybe start thinking about organising one for next year?

is it not a bit early for ordering potatoes? Did you buy earlys and lates or just earlys?

Didn't think it was that early, but not ordered any before?! Wanted to make sure I had plenty of choice still. Not sure when they're due to be depatched, probably not for a while. Oh and I ordered a range of them to cover the season.

I was just about to order mine from Alan Romans too - they won't send them out until its the right time as they don't get the stock until its ready to sell them - so I think its fine !!

I can't fault Wilkinsons for theirs.

When the stock arrives - I'll be there with the great unwashed :D

rich we had to have our order for potatoes in before christmas, and to be honest supplies could be short this year and at a guess what is available will be more expensive than last year, due to the horrid weather we had last summer.

I've had mine from Wilkies and the lottie shop for the last couple of years and no complaints, I'm just interested in seeing what else there is. My lottie neighbour went last year and came back with about 10 varieties (mine I still have the rest of my Cara's to dig up from this season )

Rob - can you remember when the Bradford one is ? I work in Huddersfield, so it won't be that far for me.

Just got some potatoes from my local iron mongers (King Edwards) apparently his supplier can't get many as the summer was so bad last year the see potato harvest wasn't good. Anyone know if there indeed a shortage?
