can't see it being big enough for anything other than housing units - the ground opposite too would be ideal for a block of flats....

Yes Internetowl, I've noticed the state of the 4 greens.

If all the residents got together and cleaned it, I guarantee it would be as bad the next morning. I was hoping that the elderly locals might use it to sit and do what the elderly do, but why would they want to when there's always several gangs of yobs gobbing, swearing and wrecking the place every day...all day.

What a waste of time and money that was. Foregone conclusion really wasn't it. Give them a palace and they'd turn it into a shed.

On the one with the goal posts - you'd have thought they might have cut the grass or re-turfed it - if anyone injured themselves on it, would the council be held responsible as they put the goal posts there for people to use?

Lots of empty beer and cider bottles in the gardens too - not all from the kids too - the local 'residents' seem to contribute too...

I walked down to the shop near the green,s with my little girl and we nearly got killed by joy rider,s.... And you see the police walking round in the morning?????? err????

They are rebuilding all the play area opposite the Forty Foot, the skate park will be first, then the cycle speedway track and the childrens swings etc. They asked the local people what they would like to see built on the land for the youngsters of the area.

I am going to be invovled in running the cycle speedway, I hope it all works out well and we can get the kids to use and not destroy it. I understand work starts on the second phase in May as long as they are not behind.

i'm in total agreement with saxon51 , yes involve All the residents including ALL the little morons who love recking other peoples hard work, include as well all the so called disability claimees (half of the buggers can be found in the southey club any dinnertime ).Where did the money come from in the first place? like you say saxon51 what a waste of money

Would have been better giving it to people on the estate to improve home security / carry out essential repairs.

....or CCTV at the hot-spots, ie. shops, school grounds (out of hours), gennels and 4 greens.

that wouldn't work Saxon - the police might be able to catch someone then if they had evidence - although looking at how they dealt with the cyclerider recently - still probably touch and go whether they'd actually manage to complete this task successfully.

More likely the CCTV would get stolen :)

The skate park is already covered in graffiti, ungrateful sods. Money would have been better spent on people in the community who would appreciate it more. I've always wondered why kids would want to buy spray paint rather than sweets or chips, pop etc with the little cash they must have, what a waste.
