This is the first year for ages that I haven't grown tomatoes and peppers in a greenhouse (we moved house in the summer) Usually they have done really well and I have tried many herritage varieties or plum ones or "Alicante".

This year as they are going to be outsitde Im going for "Sungold" It is a cordon variety and can be grown in the greenhouse or outdoors.

I'll be growing Sweet Olive Plum tomatoes again, they were super last year. I think my yellow ones were Sungold, so I'll be doing those again too. Both will be in the greenhouse.

Peppers - my redskin were very small and slow last season. Gypsy were more proflific / bigger and tasty red grill were fabulouse - but I had to wait until October or November for them to ripen !!

I had great success growing chilli peppers last year but not sweet peppers they barely flowered and certainly produced little fruit.

Tomatoes I grew money maker and sungold last year outside and had a couple other different types but they unfortunately got tomato blight.

Also gonna try the millifleur tomatoes have a look:

I love growing tomatoes, but the last couple of years Ive had holidays in May and no one to tend them, so I just dont know whether to start them or not.

sounds like you need automated irrigation could do with something my self but since i grow strait in the ground you can miss the odd day watering if you have too

GS, they need lots of light and its been particularly crappy and dark recently so thats probably why they are suffering.
