yay woo!

I noticed it was a little chilly out earlier on, and the sun was setting much earlier than the norm and i realised that winter is coming! :D

I love snow! I also love the build up toward the winter months, because you have such fun delights like Fireworks night, and of course Christmas!

I'd rather have summer, thanks!

I don't mind the cold, but I hate the rain. I also hate it being dark when I get to work in a morning, and being dark again by the time I leave in the evening.

I prefer dark, cold nights cos its night sitting infront of the fire trying to get warm. Only trouble is the dark, grey mornings when you dont really feel like leaving the warmth of bed.

what are th other 4?

i couldnt list em in order, but i can tell you whats featured!

walking on fresh snow
a strike in bowling
certain people laughing (some laughter is annoying, some delightful)
a conversation with someone cornish
and last but not least the majority of my music collection

Yeah good one. An inhabitable planet is much more preferrable to a bit of rain and snow each year.

RPG - the worst thing about the darker nights is also the darker mornings - getting up at 7am in winter when its cold and dark just doesn't feel natural and is even harder than in the summer.

I love the rain... the heavier the better for me. Bring on Thunder and Lightening too! Love it!

I like the colder weather of winter time, as you can choose to be warm or cold... in the summer your just boiling constantly!

keep the pollution up, and bring on global warming....i'll take the warmer temps along with more rain/flooding in place of snow. Winter consisted of about 2/3 days of snow last year if i'm not mistaken...that can't be bad.

tip ....buy property on higher ground

aww I LOVE winter!!!!

I love wearing my "kinky boots" with my long wool coat

I love being all snug in my bed at night, gazing out at the snow falling on the rooftops!

One thing I hate about winter is when some cocky teenager lobs a snowball at ya and doesn't miss! Grrrrr! Oh yeah and slipping on the slush, thats bad!!! :x

If man made global climate change is true, then we won't see a simple increase in good weather. What it will mean is much more chaotic, energetic weather, and if the atlantic coneyor & the gulf stream are slowed as predicted, UK will have a climate similar to North Eastern Canada. The the glaciers and finally the ice sheet will take over. Cold enough for ya?

greenhouse effect = warmer weather but much wetter, with rising sea levels

don't live near a river

yep cold is good, prefer to too hot.
Do't mind it gettin dark at night but don't like to get out of bed when still dark.
Snow is good too, crunchy noise it makes is excellent, but must b new snow not slush, proper snow.
Sheffield not a good place to have it with the hills cos too dangerous to walk anywhere, so everyone gets out car and we grind to a halt.
Fortunately live close to work and can walk (crookes to crosspool). So don't look an idiot in proper winter (don't break ur neck) kit, when goin from crookes, with lots of snow, to town, where none at all. Amazin to see people walkin round up here in heels and smooth sole stuff. lol
Sorry waffled but yes like winter, but autumn is nice too with trees changin colours, and halloween and fireworks. Mind u wud help if council cleared paths of fallen leaves as slippy on hills, have one friend already with fractured arm.:x

Oh it means a lot more than that. Unfortunately, you won't be around to endure it, as it will be generations down the line from now, but it is time people like you took the issue more seriously and realise that its not all about getting higher temperatures for a few years, its about the future survival of our species on this planet.

You wouldn't like the cold if you suffered from chronic arthritis also your fingers and toes going numb, not to mention Asthma plus bronchitis every winter. Give me the hot weather all the time, twelve months per year.

Thats a very selfish attitude to take. Would you like to have been born into a barely habitable world? No. Well, neither will our grandchildren, great grandchildren, etc.

Yay woo!

Thank goodness it's a little warmer now and the sun is setting later than the norm and I realise that we are into spring and the warmer weather!

Have never been able to stand the cold weather, tho that wasn't the reason we came to Oz. Wouldn't take the kids to the snow in Victoria though.

Isn't it great that we are all sooooo different?:P

Or the sea, especially not the sea. And you definitely don't want to live in Holland, anywhere in the Pacific, on the Mississippi delta, Florida, etc, etc.

greenhouse effect = increase rate of melt for arctic icecap
increase rate of melt for arctic icecap = end of atlantic conveyor
deep sea current
end of atlantic conveyor deep sea current = end of gulf stream
end of gulf stream = no more unseasonably warm weather at these northern latitudes. We're further north than Newfoundland here, and they get sea ice down there.

the earth is system that seeks equilibrium, as the gulf stream dies, the northern latitudes can grow colder, allowing the icecap to advance again. It's a big heat regulation system.

of course this is just idle speculation, no one really knows with any degree of certainty what effects it will have.
